By noon time it gets here to about 88 F, and like 80% humidity. I can handle the heat, it just makes my run harder and I sweat more. I usually run in the mornings or after 10 pm when it’s cooler- 75-80 F, but I see people cycling/running/walking at the dog hot hours.
I am aware to the dangers of dehydration and so on, but apart from the liquid loss, do you burn more calories when it’s hotter? Significantly?
You sweat more, and when you’re sweating you lose salt, sugar etc, and it also forces your body to work harder for energy, so it uses more calories. And your heart has to do extra work to prevent you from overheating. Or am I incorrect?
