Many people today have a view of relationships as not permanent, and so they marry with that belief. So after a year or two many divorce, because many things happen to a married couple, but yet they don't want to stand it.

When someone gets married they need to realize that a marriage mate is a life mate, forever

Today because families in general are so fragmented and do not have the base families used to have. Today the average (not all) marriage lasts from 5 to 7 years. Humans are capable of loving more than one person at a time. Affairs occur because of loving or being infatuated with another person.

Women especially get upset if her husband has relations with another woman. She fails to understand the Psyche of a man. A man is visual and pursues what he likes. Does this mean he does not love or appreciate his wife? NO, generally he loves his wife and wants his family and wants to be with them. Wives should understand this and not get so bent out of shape when it occurs. Men should be the same about wives today. The old laws of "property rights" no longer exist where marriage is concerned.

I hope this helps.

Sometimes it comes down to that they don't know what they want or they have picked (or keep picking) the wrong person. Many times I think that people are always looking for a spouse to complete them, to fulfill them, to be the source of their happiness. The truth is is that only God Himself can be our everything - He is the only one who can complete us, fulfill us and be our source of happiness andn joy. My husband and I are both Christians - we both rely on God for these things and thus have a happy marriage because we don't put the burden on each other to complete one another. People will always fail you at some point or another, or even repetitively, God never fails us. Discontent is another reason which links into the above reason. If you are content with who you are and you are content with the things you have in your life - it is another reason why you wouldn't need another person (or things) to make you feel complete and secure - again, only God can do that job!

They don't view marriage as something sacred. Now a days people think if I get married and it doesn't work I'll just get a divorce (like a divorce means nothing). They also could not have very religious beliefs.

How many shoes do you try on before you buy a pair? Have you ever liked a pair in the store and bought them only to return them a few days later?

Shoes for some...spouses for others!!

Why do you think that something is wrong with them?
Haven't you ever made a decision and then found it wasn't the best decision for you?
What is wrong with people who need to find something wrong with others?

Generally they are people who are neurotic about relationships. They are unable to make a real commitment to a relationship, but they are unable to admit this to themselves. So they keep trying to make a commitment and it doesn't work. They can't just have a casual relationship because they feel guilty about doing that.

Depends on the person. Sometimes they have mental or emotional issues. Sometimes they have bad luck. Sometimes it is just circumstances. Sometimes it is low self esteem. Sometimes it is just that they change. Sometimes it is immaturity. Sometimes it is money. Sometimes it is a combination of different things. There is no one reason.

They simply have no respect for the institution of marriage. They think so in the moment that they don't comprehend the benefits of marriage until death to they part.
