In my research, I've found that the federal government consumes about 30% of the nation's resources and only contributes about 10% to my local schools' operating budgets. My state has NO income tax and yet it affords to pay 45% of the school budget and the state shares tax dollars with the city, who pays the other 45%. This means 90% of education in my city is paid for out of a 3% property tax and a 7% sales tax.

If the federal government is taking 30% from just about everyone, why isn't it paying 80% of the education costs? Why is it that if you want to go to a good cheap college you go to one paid for by the state? Wouldn't it be better if healthcare, education, and other social programs were funded and operated closer to home?

Why does anyone think Washington D.C. is better off controlling the schools than your own city hall?

Me and my boyfriend have been together for 6 months now and we love each other very much. The only problem we have is the sex issue. It is great .... when we get time! We are both 20 and we both still live at home with our parents. This is very frustrating as we never get time to be alone and to have sex. We dont have loads of money at the moment either so neither of us can afford to keep going to hotels etc. The one time my parents are going to be out this week - i am on my period! We havent had sex for about a month now and we are both finding it very frustrating. I dont want it to end up that either of us ends up going elsewhere for it. We do love each other very much but i cant see a way around this problem. He refuses to have sex if anyone else is in the house even if we are in my bedroom or his bedroom with the doors locked?!

Any advice?

im looking to download a song from the "urban cowboy" soundtrack. the problem is that im not really sure what is the songs name. This is for anyone who has seen that movie (which is one great movie). anyway, its the very first song that is played at the beginning of the movie. you know when he is leaving his parent's home and going to uncle bob's. I thought it sounded like the charlie daniels band but im not sure its them. if anyone can tell me the name of the band and the name of the song itself that would be great. thanks!

I bought one yesterday, he's about the size of my hand, so he eats very large crickets. YUM. How much light/heat does he need? Should I get a heater rock, or just a light bar? Thanks!

I'm a first-time home buyer and decided to buy a home that is about to be built this fall. The basic price of it is $400,000. We've added $40,000 worth of options and upgrades. They offer 50% discount on options. I want to negotiate the price before signing the contract and I'm quite nervous since I haven't done this before. So why do we have the medical industry do it . Imagine going to the police department and filling out page after page of of your crime history and providing you insurance information when your home is robbed or your car stolen before the police will try to arrest the guilty party .
Imagine your fire department showing up but first needing you to show proof of insurance before going to work .
So why do we do this with health care . Why must we have Insurance companies who take billions and billions in profits from your premiums and distribute them among investors and the 30 million Insurance workers in America .
Because they have a lobby and have thousands of laws on the books now entrenching them in the american business sector .
Why ! Why have them at all .
Automatic tax returns filed and checks issued .
Automatic health care billing and checks sent to doctors .
Dump the 100 billion $$$$ middle man raising the cost of health care and complicating doctors office billings .
