You need to install the program "Itunes" on your computer. It's on the CD that came with your ipod, or you can get it for free on apple.com.
Then you add music to the Itunes program by "importing" from a music CD you already have, or purchasing on the Itunes store.
Then you plug your ipod into your computer, and the Itunes program will be able to tell that it is plugged in. Then you "sync" the Itunes to the ipod, which transfers the music onto the ipod.

Well first you need to make sure you download the iTunes CD that came with the iPod onto your computer.
After that you can either buy music from iTunes online or you can insert a CD into your computer and the iTunes progam will let you directly put it onto your iPod. Usually your music to upload onto your iPod comes straight from the "Library" folder. The best thing for starters is just to play around with the program. You'll get the hang of it eventually. well if you dont have itunes get it, you should have been given a disc with your ipod to install the software, put that disc in your comp and install that, if not go to apple.com and get itunes, and after that you ofcoarse attach your ipod to your comp, you then open itunes and open up your music folder it should open automatically then drag the songs over to your library where you should see an ipod icon, drop your songs there
