Last year while at a rally some lady gave my old man her phone number and he put it in his wallet. I found the number, called the lady and then went to her house. She says she didn't know my old man and that if she had met him at the rally that she was drunk and doesn't remember giving him her number...... I showed her pictures and the number which she admitted was in her handwritting..... She completely denies knowing him.....

I then went home and asked him about it and he said she gave it to him at the rally and he didn't even realize he had it.... I questioned him as to why he placed it in his wallet since we have been together for several years. He claims he didn't remember doing that. He did though, or the number wouldn't have been there....

ANYWAY.... today my home phone rang and this woman's name and number came up on my caller ID. It was her daughter and come to find out my daughter and her daughter are good friends from school.

It's difficult to live in a city like New York and have that kind of 'life balance' I try to maintain. Cities like this urge you to be decadent, debaucherous, to consume above your means, in all excess, as so many autonomies running around, how can one ever take a moment 'away from it all' without actually leaving? Does anybody have any tips for an urban dweller cut off from Nature, Silence, Light and Reflection?

I do find that New York's population is generally very healthy, eat well , fresh, and many organically; much exercise (at the very least all the walking, climbing stairs, etc).. Even little things, like I heard the Japanese alignin their beds north to south to affect how they sleep and wake up in the morning..
So...
Anybody have any tips for healthy living in New York?

Trading Places has got to be one of my all time favourite comedies, I have seen it many times with friends over the past couple of decades, but we are always at a loss when it comes to the ending of the movie.

I get the overall picture, Billy Ray and Winthorpe screw the Dukes over by delivering their fabricated version of the orange growth report, and using the savings of Ophelia and Coleman they play the stock market to their advantage, but it’s the playing the stock market bit where I loose the plot, at one point they jump up and down with joy over a number on a stock market board at the end of days trading, I know this means they have made a load of cash, but what does this number mean? As it's just a couple of digits.

And how exactly do they manage to make the Dukes bankrupt in the process?

I will be going to WDW in July for my first time of couse I have planned & saved for a long time, it's a big deal to me since I don't live close to Florida. But someone just told me that she has already been there for 3 times but she didn't like it at all!!!! She said she doesn't like Disneyland or Disney World that kind of stuffs it's boring. Of course I was wondering why would she go there for 3 times if she really hates it that much.... so I asked her if she entered all 4 parks but she said she's only been to Magic Kingdom and that was boring enough for her already!!! But then later on she added she was also been to Epcot but nothing to do it was very boring as well.
I feel kind of down after listened to what she said, do you think she was really telling me the true or lying about something? For your record, she couldn't even afford going to Las Vegas for we are living in Los Angeles. I'm wondering why she need to tell me all that if she was really lying about something?

This is to clarify a previous question. I cannot log onto a pc using any of the 3 users passwords; the log on starts and then returns to the log on screen. We may have to reformat. I want to copy files in Documents and Settings for all users to keep them. I can't log in so I moved the hard drive and made it a slave on another XP Pro pc. I have moved the My Documents under Documents and Settings for all but one user. I receive an error message claiming I have no permission to do this or to open it. This was in Win Explorer I have tried in Safe Mode, logged in under Administrator in SAFE mode - and cannot see the contents in the Dos Propt screen. Is there a way to copy it so I can reformat??

I know this question has been asked a million times before, but I still feel better asking myself.

Im going to Japan next year and i want to lose weight for the trip.
I'm 6' 2", 20 years old, weigh about 19 stone (266 pounds), I have been told that my body burns about 3100 colories naturally a day, due to my height and weight.
My physical activity level is low. I am a computer student so i dont get a lot of exercise at college. But I have finished now and im getting a full time job until i go to Uni in september.
I would ideally like to lose a lot of weight and then build up some muscle after, since I have been told that i can not do both at the same time.

I just heard a friend of mine, has a daughter in law. Who was on the birth control patch. A few weeks ago she developed a blot clot in her uterus. They did lot's of test's did not know for sure why she developed a blot clot. Now she has it in her lungs and is back in the hospital. She has four young children. Why are these Pharmasutical make us more sick than really helping us?

I have worked since i was 16, from age 18 to 40 I worked 2 jobs. I have been married for 30 years, raised 4 kids. am now 47 and quite frankly I am exhausted. I did manage college with 3 smalll children and 2 jobs. My husband is turning 50 and complains he needs to cut back at work, "getting too old to work 50 hours per week. i work 60 because I am in management. We don't have lavish items such as boats, jewlery, or vacations, last vacation was 8 years ago (a weekend camping trip). We eat out 3-4 times / month, cook mealse from scratch, don't drink, smoke or gamble. We have little to no savings, and live in a small house, about 1,000 square feet and have 10 years left on our 30 year mortgage. No retirement savings.and are in age group being punished by social security, but have paid over $200,000.00 into social security. & no financial help for kids college.
