I need advice. I have to make a decision, by today, whether I want to accept an offer to go to a fully paid Masters of Business Taxation program, and am puzzled if I should go or not.

On the plus side, it means more opportunity, better pay, and, (along with a requirement of 5 years of accounting experience,) I can be hired as an accounting professor (I would MUCH rather teach than be in a cubicle all day, so, this is an opportunity to provide that)

On the negative side, it means a lot more school and intense studying etc (which I don't like), ****** professors, and a subject matter that doesn't really interest me all that much.

I'm a creative soul by nature, but, I decided to go into accounting because 1)it slightly interested me and 2)I know it's a stable job that will provide a steady flow of income, unlike some other creative career paths.

I just don't want to waste my life doing something I don't care about.

If you were in my shoes, would you accept this offer?

You may tell us what your town is, but please tell us what you can do there on a nice Wednesday night.

I'll be having a nice walk home, singing under the rain after an old movie with my dear girlfriend. Mexico city.

I signed up for service on a Monday, canceled on Wednesday. They sent me a bill for $83.16 saying there is a cancelation fee. I was not given that information prior to signing up, nor was I told when I called to cancel. They never came to install service and yet keep sending me a bill. I have written them letters stating I want to hear the tape of the conversation since they said the call was monitored and they have not given me any such tape. I just KNOW there are other consumers who have gone through the same thing. I think something should be done about this. I have been writting to them and at one time someone called me and said I would be getting a credit, however two months passed and then I just received another bill for over $100. Someone please help me!

Why do most people think negative about Detroit, even when they've never stepped foot in the city? Everything associated with Detroit people instantly frown up. Yeah, Detroit has been on the top of a lot of negative list but that's because that's what the media want's to tell you but if you came to the city yourself you would see that Detroiters are good people and we're certainly a safer city than Vegas.

Have you hugged a liberal today?

Some 45% of all Republicans report being very happy, compared with just 30% of Democrats and 29% of independents. This finding has also been around a long time; Republicans have been happier than Democrats every year since the General Social Survey began taking its measurements in 1972. Pew surveys since 1991 also show a partisan gap on happiness; the current 16 percentage point gap is among the largest in Pew surveys, rivaled only by a 17 point gap in February 2003.
Could it be that Republicans are so much happier now because their party controls all the levers of federal power? Not likely. Since 1972, the GOP happiness edge over Democrats has ebbed and flowed in a pattern that appears unrelated to which party is in political power.
For example, Republicans had up to a 10 and 11 percentage point happiness edge over Democrats in various years of both the Carter and Clinton presidencies, and as small as a three and five percentage point edge in various years of the Reagan and first Bush presidencies. Also, we should explain here a bit about how our survey questionnaire was constructed. The question about happiness was posed at the very beginning of the interview, while the question about political affiliation was posed at the back end, along with questions about demographic traits. So respondents were not cued to consider their happiness through the frame of partisan politics. This question is about happiness; it is not a question about happiness with partisan outcomes.
Of course, there's a more obvious explanation for the Republicans' happiness edge. Republicans tend to have more money than Democrats, and -- as we've already discovered -- people who have more money tend to be happier.
But even this explanation only goes so far. If one controls for household income, Republicans still hold a significant edge: that is, poor Republicans are happier than poor Democrats; middle-income Republicans are happier than middle-income Democrats, and rich Republicans are happier than rich Democrats.
Might ideology be the key? It's true that conservatives, who are more likely to be Republican, are happier than liberals, who are more likely to be Democrats. But even controlling for this ideological factor, a significant partisan gap remains. Conservative Republicans are happier than conservative Democrats, and moderate/liberal Republicans are happier than liberal Democrats. Hmmm, what other factors might be at play? Well, there's always...

As it was said by someone in an earlier thread, it is impossible to do anything but give amnesty(which is earned legalization not full amnesty). You cant deport them all, you just cant. They will not self deport, no matter how hard you make it for them. And you cant do nothing because there will only be more of them. Yes they broke the law(most of them, the kids did not) but it is a minor offense for which a huge fine of $5,000 is more then enough.

Some of you think that there is no greater crime then this, or at least you act like you think so. Well there are a lot worse crimes, that most of you have done like drugs, underage drinking or smoking, yet you weren't caught and you were not punished for it. So why should the people who try to make their lives better be punished for it?

According to Jesus in Matthew 7:21-23 "Matthew 7:21-23 "Not everyone saying to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but the one doing the will of my Father who is in the heavens will. 22 Many will say to me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and expel demons in your name, and perform many powerful works in your name?’ 23 And yet then I will confess to them: I never knew YOU! Get away from me, YOU workers of lawlessness"

So if heaven is not your choice then the lake of fire is the one.
