What from your experience is the best matched component set for a new Intel-based desktop or tower based PC, and why? I'll need to get a hold of a new CPU / Motherboard / Memory / Hardisk and want the best modern components, but at a part-way sensible price.

(I don't want to get a branded machine coz I enjoy the challenge of building my own machine).

Thats what I plan on purchasing, and thats the best US store for purchase.

To save money, you can remove a hard drive, remove a dvd drive, get rid of the speakers, get rid of the sound card, get a less powerful gpu, no monitor, no keyboard, no mouse. all depends on what you want and need. for 2000 bucks, u get everything you could possibly need though. you could also save money on a differnet OS(not reccomended) and you could drop to 1gb ram(not reccomended) also you could jus use the stock intel CPU cooler instead of the thermalright, aswell as use the stock intel thermal paste(not reccomended, AS5 is so much better)

All those parts are reputable companies and are amazing

audio device are lame video card could be a 670 the ram seems intense-high quality, in spite of the undeniable fact that it additionally needs to be low CAS ram (mhz do no longer count as much as CAS latency) for ddr3 you opt for C8 or C7 (customary is C9 and that's actually 0.5 the value of C8, and actually two times as sluggish loading video games) different than for that i could save the $20 on "care2" and in simple terms zippy-tie all the cables up when I have been given it. or you would be staring at a pair of$1300 for that rig
