A few years ago my father-in-law had a heart attack. The damage to his heart was so severe that the specialist told my ex that if he recovered, he wouldn’t be able to lift his hand to comb his own hair. Heart tissue can’t recover. It forms a scar and a heart so severely damaged can never function normally again.

We assumed the doctor was trying to prepare us for his father’s death and accepted it. He couldn’t breathe for himself and was connected to life supporting machines and monitors. We didn’t pray for recovery, just that God’s will be done.

I was sitting with him that night, as we took turns to stay by his side, when I noticed the doctor coming in to check the monitors, walking out, and coming back to check again, as if he couldn’t believe his eyes. Even I could see that his fast, uneven heartbeat was stabilizing.

A day or two later he was so much better that they could take him off the machines. He recovered fully and could take up a fitness program for heart patients. My father-in-law loved God. He simply said that God had taken his hand.

A team of highly-skilled doctors was involved. They didn’t misdiagnose, as my one friend suggested. They all agreed that what had happened was medically impossible. One joked that they were going to exhibit him in a glass cubicle at the hospital as an example of a miracle.

Do you believe that miracles still happen? Have you had a similar experience?

Why do some parents object to putting their toddlers into safety reins or at least a wrist strap these days?
I brought up four boys on my own and couldn't have gone shopping without growing two more arms (at least!) when they were all tiny and the older two were out of the pushchair stage without their reins.
It may seem fine with only one toddler but it is better to be safe than sorry and I never lost any of mine even temporarily and God forbid if they had slipped away and run into the road!
What is the objection? All of this nonsense about "restricting" children annoys me - they *need* to be restricted for their own good - will these same parents disobey the new law on child seats and proper seatbelts to keep children safe in cars? I never drove anyway and that is why I kept my boys safe (and healthy) when walking to the shops and so on and taught them road safety once they were older and out of reins but when they were little I didn't take any risks with their lives.

Last night as I was cleaning up at work before going home, all of a sudden I got the worst lower stomach pain in my life. I hit me like a brick wall. I had to hunch over because it hurt so bad & eventually I broke out in a cold sweat and starting getting light headed. The pain was soo bad. I thought I was going to throw up as well because of the pain and the dizzyness. I eventually had to sit down and one of the bouncers had to carry me out because I couldn't walk. I went to bed to try and sleep it off but I woke up this morning with still a little bit of pain. It isn't as close to the amount last night but what was this that happened!!??? If I push below my belly button it kills & it not only hurts where I push but it hurts even more above my belly button. I would like some advice as if I need to see a doctor. Is a constipation, a cyst bursting, what!!!?? Help

My Fiancee (soon to be my wife) and I will drive Across the US starting July 16th from New York City for one month. We are renting a car from Hertz for the whole trip.

What suggestions can you make (things to do, see, OR even things to AVOID, places to stay... ANYTHING) that could really make the difference between our honeymoon being a money-pit / nightmare or the most special time of our lives.

Details so far are: Possibly stop in Chicago for a day to visit frineds. Arrive in San Fransisco on July 20th for a long weekend with a friend, a few days in Las Vegas with a relative, several days in New Mexico with a good friend, have to drop the car off in New York City on Aug. 16th. That's it, the rest is totally up in the air. Maybe your suggestion(s) will make this something really special for us or at least help us to avoid any costly mistakes. Thanks for any suggestions you may have... anything will be helpful. This is the only honeymoon I plan to have!

Thanks! - Kevin

First of all, I'm not trying to upset anyone here. I'm just trying to look at a possibility. The false prophet will 'perform miracles' and decieve the whole world. Every christian claims the false prophet will be the anti christ (which is true) but they all see him as the anti jesus. How many prophets have the ability to decieve a massive portion of the world? Only one as I can see and that's Jesus. Again, I'm not trying to upset anyone here. I believe in God, I'm not a Jew. I'm just trying to figure out the big picture, and if Jesus IS the false prophet. I cetainly don't want to be one of the decieved. Also, if you think about Jesus's teachings such as turn the other cheek rather than an eye for an eye. If we did that during world war 2 we would now be under nazi control. His teachings seem to give evil full authority. I agree it should not be an eye for an eye as the whole world would end up blind but I don't think turn the other cheek is the answer.

Driving into Tacoma from Gig Harbor between Olympic and the new toll booths towards bridge I saw at left by center dividing concrete blocks a mommy duck and eight babies. Does anyone know if they were rescued before the made the bridge or got hit? We called and fish and game was notified. But, were they saved?

Hi,
we are going to move to the US in a couple of weeks. Over here in Europe we don't pay much for TV. I was wondeing how much it'll cost to get Cable TV (I know there are many opeators, but what would you say is an average price?) and some premium TV (I'd like to order HBO AND Showtime).
Are there other recommendable Premium TV services, or are HBO and Showtime the biggest and best?
Thanks for your answers!

I'm trying to do some research for my boyfriend's father who was in the US Air Force in the 1960's and was stationed in what he has referred to as 'French Speaking Congo'. Since this is a surprise for him, I can't ask him details, but after doing historical research, I'm lost as to which former colony he is referring to. French Equatorial Africa? Democratic Republic of Congo? I just need to know what country it was in the 1960's so that I can download accurate data and graphics. (flags, maps, etc.) Can any history buffs out there help me out?
(ASAP for Father's Day? :) )

thanks!

Had a dreams two nights ago that has been really bugging me, because i m trying to understand its meaning.

i m only going to mention the part that i think is the symbol of my dream, cuz the rest of it is long, and doesnt make sense, and didnt mean anything to me.
My dreams symbol was me catching on fire. As scary as it sounds, i didn't seem to be That alarmed about it in my dream (i was more like surprised). it didn't feel good to be on fire but i felt or expressed no true pain.

i wanted to get your opinions and suggestions, so i can try to decipher this bothersome dream. please and thanks :)

Yesterday I was talking to a friend while he was mowing his lawn. All of a sudden he lifted the back wheels way off the ground, I guess to let some cut grass fall down, while the mower was still going!

Seems very dangerous to me, what do you think?
