Yesterday I was talking to a friend while he was mowing his lawn. All of a sudden he lifted the back wheels way off the ground, I guess to let some cut grass fall down, while the mower was still going!

Seems very dangerous to me, what do you think?

I do it all the time when there is a clump of grass on the back, or if I get into some deep grass/weeds that are clogging the blade. As long as you don't run it over your foot, you are ok.

Not sure why he lifted the rear part of the mower since it is certainly easier to push down on the handle and lift the front. Any time the blade is exposed on a running mower, there is a danger.
