I recently joined a non-profit org as a member. The form stated that membership dues are not tax deductible (although it did state that substantial donations to the organization's "foundation" are). Is this correct?

Also, I recently sponsored an event to benefit this non-profit. Included in the sponsorship package was listing on advertisements and websites. Could this be deducted as "advertising"?

in my opinion, putting the jews in palistine after the war was the worst mistake in history, they now have to much power and influence. and where such power can be controlled (with the exception of USA), Israelites are possibly the most racist and hipocritically judgemental people on earth. and to top it all off, they rename the rightly muslim owned country from palistine to Israel.

just to note, im not having a go at jews as a people (many are very nice), just that those in Israel are too dangerous.

anyone have the same view?

In Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism, etc do they say that trying to reach "enlightenment" is what everyone is supposed to do? Or do they see it as just one path to take in life? I've heard that after one becomes enlightened, they see life as just a game, perhaps a play. They're free of attachments; they can have preferences about what they'd like to happen, but they don't need this or that outcome to be happy. But do folks who are enlightened recommend this as the ideal path in life for everyone?

I don't think I am an alcoholic or anything like that, but every friday I feel like I have to drink. If I get drunk then I don't drink on Saturday, but my have drinks on Sunday. I usually don't drink during the week (unless there is some sort of social event going on). The drinking makes me feel so sick afterwards (even if I have just one drink). Saturday and Sunday, I do not have to drink but sometimes will. Friday is the day that I have to drink. Maybe I am a friday alcoholic. How do I make my friday evening drinking stop?

A blonde woman was having financial troubles so she decided to kidnap a child and demand a ransom. She went to a local park, grabbed a little boy, took him behind a tree and wrote a note.

"I have kidnapped your child. I am sorry to do this but I need the money. Leave $10,000 in a plain brown bag behind the big oak tree in the park at 7 AM."
Signed, "The Blonde."

She pinned the note inside the little boy's jacket and told him to go straight home.

The next morning, she returned to the park to find the $10,000 in a brown bag behind the big oak tree, just as she had instructed inside the bag with the cash was the following note....
