Switch to wine, and limit your self top one bottle.
Sip, and enjoy the taste, don't guzzle.
Before you know it, you'll be up to 2 bottles and you will not have this sick/guilt feeling anymore after the fact.
You'll robably begin a nice new hobby as you learn about what wines you prefer, and which wine you don't enjoy.
Life is good, and gets better with wine, in moderation, of course.

Many people find AA a good place to begin. My cousin does not like the taste of alcohol or the feeling she gets afterwards. She just doesn't drink and no one ever gives her a hard time for not drinking. Try drinking cranberry juice and soda water if you are concerned about not looking like you are part of the crowd. Soon you will discover it's not even a crowd you want to be a part of. Try finding something new to do on your Friday evenings: go to a movie, read a good book, find a lecture series. Break the trend of how you have been living.
Finally, I suggest you talk openly and honestly with your doctor to make sure there isn't anything else going on in your body that could explain some of your difficulties.
Good luck, the first step was to admit this to yourself. You will be fine.

When going out with your friends instead of ordering alcoholic drinks, order other ones. Like instead of a gin and tonic, order a sprite and tonic...or a club soda, or a virgin daiquiri. Set your mind to not drinking that night and stick to it.
If you really think you might be an alcoholic, though, consider seeking counselling.

Do something else that doesn't involve alcohol. If it's not around you, and you keep busy, then you'll be fine. Maybe go to a movie, or spend time with friends who are not drinking.

Its called self control. you are not an alcoholic in any way, buy don't mix beer and liquor and don't fall asleep or pass out when you are dizzy. Drink lots of water before during and after you drink.

If you feel you must attend these social events, juices, soda, or water are acceptable alternatives. If you MUST drink, drink a glass of water after every drink, it will fill you up faster and hydrate you, (most hangovers are a result of dehydration). Work your way to making the switch to non-alcoholic gradually, it takes time to break a habit.

Just try to distance yourself from the drinking crowd every now and again. I f you're not around people who want to drink than chances are you might not want to drink but you have to have some strong will power

you stop by NOT GOING OUT TO DRINK !!! ... NOT OPENING THE BEER !!! ... find other things to do with your Friday nights ... it's not that hard ... it's a matter of "want-to" ... when your want to stop drinking is stronger than your want to continue, then you will ... but not before ... there is no magic pill ... no snap of the fingers ... it's a matter of taking responsibility for the choices you make and accepting the consequences of those choices ... a wise man once told me: "If you're tired of gettting what you keep on getting, stop doing what you keep on doing."

Mix all your drinks with a friend or co-workers urine, After a few nights out like that you don't feel like drinking anymore. It helped me a lot.

I would focus more on why I felt sick from one drink. Try drinking water and taking B vitamins before you fall asleep. Drinking larger quantities more often could be another avenue to build up your tolerance against hangovers, but certainly not the healthy recommendation
