I realize the war is difficult and frustrating - but making such a statement when our soldiers are on the front lines and in harms way seems like a pretty unprofessional, dangerous and utterly stupid thing to do.
Bad enough congress turns the funding of the war into a political circus and expounds policies of defeat, immediate withdrawal and, at best, set time tables for withdrawal.
But this statement from one of our esteemed representatives really takes the cake.
What are your serious thoughts on this - and, please, accept this question in the present, and don't recite reasons we shouldn't have done this or that in the past.
This is not a liberal or conservative question - it is a question concerning the inevitable results and consequences of such a callous statement coming from one of our representatives.
Any truth in this statement is irrelavent - there are numerous other avenues to advocate the position without telling the enemy the United States has lost the war.
