an ocean liner is iling across the atlantic ocean. late one night during the journey, she strikes an iceberg. the leak created is taking in water at a rate of 3.25 tons every 12 minutes. the ship is 40 miles from the nearest land. the captain knows that the ship will sink if it takes in 68 tons of water. the pumps of the ship can throw out 12 tons of water every hour. unfortunetly, with this damage the ship can only travel at the rate of 2.25 miles per hour. the captain radios search and rescue personnel that the ship will not likely make it to shore before it sinks. if the captain is correct, how far from shore will the ship sink?

why do people start throwing facts in about the criminals act that illegal immigrants do such as rape,murder,and DUIs. People are quick to start stating facts about these criminal acts.
What about us Americans??? Do Americans not kill,rape,murder, and drive under the influence??? Or does it make okay because these awful crimes are being commited by AN AMERICAN on AMERICAN SOIL???
Americans always make it sound like illegal immigrants main purpose in life is to kill. When that is ridicoulous,NOT illegal immigrants have a criminal background NOR do they attempt to do ANY harm to anyone. THEY ARE human beings also.

Also, I AM NOT saying that these crimes are okay by no means!!!!! But if people are going to state facts about illegal immigrants also add the facts on Americans that commit these criminal acts.

My Maytag dishwasher is making a very loud grinding/buzzing noise. It begins a few minutes into a cycle (any- I've tried all of them, even just rinse). I know that it is not a normal noise, as it has just recently and suddenly began...Any ideas on what the problem may be??? any suggestions on how to fix this?

I'm in high school now and I've recently been thinking about quitting the violin. I've been playing for 6 years, and I've had 4 years of private lessons. I bought a $3,000 violin last year, thinking I would play it for the whole time in high school, but now I never practice becuase I'm soo lazy that I don't even take my instrument out of its case. I have stopped private lessons for now.....
I hate practicing (most of the time), and playing at school is kinda boring. BUT there are a few moments when I feel connected with the music and I really get into it and enjoy it...this happens rarely.
So is it worth continuing? Or should I just stop, which will disappoint my teachers and parents?

I clean my teeth and rinse before going to bed each night (well, nearly each). In the morning, in the space between my inner cheeks and my teeth, and around my teeth, there is always a white membranous coating thick enough to be chewy. When I miss cleaning the night before, it doesn't form. What could this be?
