I'm Filipino, I just happened to have been raised abroad. I know there are some english words that have been "bastardized" there in the Philippines like "let's MAKE tikim" or " i wnat to MAKE padala my letter".
But the most unforgivable misinterpretation of an english word there in the Phlippz is "salvage". Everyone I knew there, including my english teacher when I studied the 1 year of high school at UPHCR (1999), defined it as something horrible ranging from being tortured to being killed in front of one's spouse. Doen'st salvage mean being rescued? As in the "Salvation" army? As in Jesus will bring us salvation = salvage?
I hit me again last week, when my friend from Manila told me that if he ever sees Osama Bin Laden, he'll "salvage" the Al Quaeda leader. What the fork? It ended in an argument about the word's definition all evening.
So please, my fellow Yahoo users, tell my idiot friend that he is wrong by writing in YOUR definition of "salvage".

Clearly the animals we evolved from had souls or we do not. We did not grow souls while we were evolving from animals, obviously, so we must conclude that all animals did and do have souls. (what a soul is depends on your definition, naturally).

i was hospitalized at 29 and 33 weeks for preterm labor but never put on bedrest. at 33 weeks they said i was 3 cm dilated, 50% effaced and baby at -2 station. at 33.5 weeks, my entire 5-inch long mucus plug came out and i'm continuing to lose bits. BH contractions are sporadic. what are the chances that i'll go more than a few weeks before labor? from what i read it could be a few days or a few weeks. i am 34.5 weeks now. thanks!

Can a child benefit from CT (cognitive therapy), CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), REBT (rational emotive behavioral therapy), RBT ( rational behavioral therapy), or RLT (rational living therapy) I have a child who suffers from a few mental health diagnoses, and all have resulted in him have extremely low self esteem, no matter what I do. This is the biggest personal conflict I have. I'm a meat eater. I was a vegetarian for 1.5 years. I jokingly call it the worst year and a half of my life. I LOVE meat, specifically chickens, cows, and pigs. I find vegetarian options very boring or they're usually mushroom based - my least favorite food. I find meat to be satisfying in every way but one... and that is that I believe that humans should be morally concious and compassionate enough to choose to be vegetarians. Factory farming is awful, animals have feelings, and I'm smart enough to know what the right choice is. Where is my willpower? I challenge you to throw all the vegetarian/vegan propaganda that will gross me out and change my diet my way. I NEED to be grossed out. If you could actually make me puke, that would be awesome. If I can't get grossed out about this, I think I'll be a meat eater for the rest of my life, struggling in and out of half-assed vegetarianism phases.

I wanted a NICE cat all my life and I got a cat. well this cat is the cat from hell. she used to claw us constantly until she was declawed as a kitten. ( she's 3 now ). So, have you ever been abused or raped or hurt by your lover? Like, I had a boy that I liked, and he was 17, I aws 11 at the time. Like, he used me for the fact that I -tried- to.. you know go down on him. We played a game called "nervous" and when I got up to his zipped I said, "I want to do something, but I need to take off your pants to do it." and when I came to it... he was uncut, so I was confused and scared, because I didn't even know there was such a thing. So, you know, we try again the next day and I see it in the light, I'm more aware and he tells me about it and that it's perfectly normal, I believe him.. and I admire him so much. Like, I look back, and he was just using me I guess. I mean, I admired and liked him SOOOO much, I wanted to do anything for him. I wanted to make him happy, and give him pleasure. My husband and I are trying to make our 6 yr marriage work. He is really trying hard. He treats me really good but last night when I asked if he was starting to love me he got frustrated and said “I treat you good don’t I? what more do you want?” when I said love he replied “If I was with someone I loved I would probably treat her the same way I treat you, so I don’t understand what more you want from me, what else do you want me to do?... next time you ask I should just say I do”.

He didn't love me when we first got married, but since he does care deeply for me and we have two kids, we decided to try to make it work.

He cares about me a LOT and he shows it... but I would like to have a spouse who loves me. Is he right to feel frustrated? Should I be content with support, care, fidelity...? isn't that just a very nice friendship?...maybe loved is reserved for someone lese...
