You said the evil "E" word. Evolution as a evil word it the Christian dictionary. They hear the "E"word and their mind immediately closes. Their ears don't hear and their eyes don't see.
We didn't just evolve from animals, we ARE ANIMALS!

It's possible that an evolutionary process could have been part of God's creative work.
If so, then the existence of a soul is one of the evolutionary differences between us and the animals.
After all, there are many attributes that we possess, that animals do not. That's clear. So why would the existence of a human soul be any different?
By the way, there is no PROOF that humans evolved from animals. It's only a possibility.
But even if it is true, it certainly does not mean that animals possess the same non-physical attributes that we do. That would include intellect, compassion, reason, and yes, a soul.

What specific Christian churches hold the beliefs that you are claiming? Christianity is not monolithic in its beliefs and practices. Aristotle postulated that the soul is a immaterial principle that animates matter, that is, the soul give life to the body. This understanding comes into Christianity via some of its greatest thinkers, Thomas Aquinas for example. In terms of this, anything that is alive has a soul. Classical Christian theology does not assert that animals do not have souls. What is postulated is that there is a qualitative difference between an plant, animal, and human soul because the human soul posseses a higher capacity for reason and will, and is immortal by its nature. Finally, in regards to your last comment, if the issue of "soul" for you is merely a matter of subjectivity and opinion, you cannot adjudicate an answer to this question, which raises the question why you have posted it in the first place.

this is feasible that an evolutionary technique could have been area of God's inventive artwork. if so, then the existence of a soul is between the evolutionary alterations between us and the animals. after all, there are various attributes that we very own, that animals do no longer. this is sparkling. So why might the existence of a human soul be any diverse? by way of the way, there is not any information that people developed from animals. this is only a risk. yet even whether it truly is authentic, it rather would not advise that animals very own an identical non-actual attributes that we do. that could desire to comprise mind, compassion, reason, and likely, a soul. .

The first word of your post indicates the flaw in the logic: SINCE. The word there should be IF. If man did not evolve, and if we take the scripture at face value, then the answer is obvious: God breathed into man's nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.
If we proceed from a preconceived notion that the scripture is either erroneous or irrelevant, we will make grave error.

It doesn't matter which theories are right, but I agree with you about animals having souls as well as people. As to how we got here, who cares? We're here and people are very confused everywhere and making quite a mess of the planet and causing a lot of suffering for the fellow human beings. But we have a magnificent potential once we get past the self-defined limitations and egocentricity and ugliness.

Everything has a soul and spirit. Animals, humans, and even non living objects. Everything was created spiritually before it was created physically. The soul is the union of the spirit and body.

You are dealing with organizations that believe things like the wafer and wine turn into the actual body and blood of Jesus through "transubstantiation", which makes it a form of ritual cannibalism. Does that explain why they might make claims that are silly? They already do! BTW: we ARE animals - we just happen to be the most advanced ones.
