Yes let's all step up to the plate as we get ripped off at the box office paying the ridiculous price of $10.00 or more to sit in a shoe box sized theatre with spilled soda and popcorn on the floor because the theatre happened to be showing a blockbuster movie and didn't have time to clean up between concession time. :\
$8.50 for or popcorn and $5.50 for a medium soda. Are you kidding me? :\
And let's not forget the Mexicans sitting behind us that we slapped in order to get them to shut up ‘cause they couldn't understand the English dialogue; and the parents who we yelled at sitting in the seats in front of us because their screaming obnoxious teen-agers wouldn't shut up. :\
Meanwhile , while we expect the movie to start, we're forced to sit and watch 20 minutes of commercials, even though we've already paid a hefty admission fee. Sometimes they are the same commercials that you would see on television. Uhh, I didn't pay to see commercials. I paid to see the motion picture. :\
And the people who somehow thing it's perfectly polite etiquette to use their cell phones whenever they please before during and after the movie. Eeeechh. :\
Hmm, and the person's fat head in front of us blocks any pleasant view that we otherwise might have had
of the "big" screen. :\
To top it off, we'll try and forget how we were all rudely solicited by the theatre's clerks for some bogus charity before the movie started. As a result the clerks had some people in the audience throw popcorn, sodas and bon-bons at them in disgust as other people in the audience clapped and laughed.
Now you might think the above incidences are exaggerations. Not by much. The only exaggeration is slapping, but everything else pertains to things I have experienced at theatres.
The aforementioned occurrences are also the reason why I haven't been to a motion picture theatre in about 10 years. I'll stick to watching motion pictures on DVDs., if I feel the burning need to watch a movie, which I rarely do. :\
