I mean, if USA happens to be a TRUE DEMOCRACY?

If a democracy caters to the majority, why does this as*hole still doesn't abide to the people?

People on both sides continue to die, and our economy goes ever deeper into debt.

The US is a Republic not a Democracy.

We should let the Generals fight the war.

Abe Lincoln led an unpopular war (there were even riots in New York), kept changing his reasons for fighting, killed over 500,000 American soldiers alone (making it the worst war ever for the U.S.), destroyed several U.S. cities (destroying the city to save it) didn't really end when the war was over (there were bombings in the 1960s from those unwilling to surrender). He also did absolutely nothing else as U.S. president and yet is considered by many to have been a very good president (the reason he is on all that money and his birthday is celebrated). This isn't even an expensive war as far as the GNP goes. It also hasn't failed. The Iraqi police and military force is growing. A losing military always shrinks.

Sorry, I have never let cowards speak for me and it isn't about to start now.

Just go snuggle up with the likes of Jane Fonda, you will find a person of like mind. SURRENDER first before we get hurt of hurt someone else.

I realize this is going to bust your bubble be there are still AMERICANS that remember 9/11. The transplanted French and terrorist sympathizers don't fall into that category.

We lost more people on 9/11 than it took to get a Democrat in a wheel chair into WWII. You guys have come a long way. Do you take the chemical castration drugs voluntarily or does Monica's boyfriend make your cool aid for you?

It's sad, we used to have some patriotism in this country, people who didn't just roll over when over 3,000 of their countrymen were murdered...

Most of the military AND Al Qaeda know that we're winning this war. Well, it's pretty much won. Until Harry Reid had to open his fly trap and give Al Qaeda some hope.

Get on the internet and do some research. The media lies and has even come up with stories about innocent Iraqi's being killed that never happened. We're working to put their country back together. AND we're succeeding. It's not nearly as bad over there as what the media makes it out to be. And considering the crime rate in the military town I live in, our troops are safer over there than they are here and in other cities in the US.

We're winning this war. People need to get over themselves and start facing facts. And the government needs to quit trying to screw things up and let our troops do their jobs.

USA is not a democracy. It is a representative republic / federation. Learn it! We elect leaders that we think will make the best decisions for us. If they don't do what we want, we can tell them in the next elections. Bush doesn't react much to polls. He acts on core beliefs. He deserves some credit. He is far from perfect and his speeches are painful to listen to. But he is at least willing to fight the terrorists.

According to that kind of logic, Lincoln never should have freed the slaves. Most of the country, north and south, either approved of slavery or was at least willing to tolerate it.
President Lincoln knew, however, that slavery was evil, so he signed the Emancipation Proclamation anyway, in spite of the fact that he knew it would be wildly unpopular...which it was.

A president is supposed to LEAD, not just do the most popular thing.
It's called LEADERSHIP, and it's not a popularity contest.
Any idiot can take a poll and then make a decision...that's why we have elections.

It takes a true leader to keep going when most people are willing to give up.

The war was won in 2004 (Saddam Hussein remember).
Its now a matter of taking down the insurgents - Al Quida-

The american people DO NOT support withdrawl.
"Americans dont tolerate losers " Gen Patton.

Its the fringe left that is making you think that way. If your Democrat congressman didn't support this war, they, the congress has the authority to stop funding it now. But they won't and do you know why? Because they do not want to be blamed for what will happen to Iraq. The democrats are vested in defeat. They need the current administration to lose this war on terror. If President Bush happens to win against the taliban, then the democrats will lose power

Yea, I the USA were a "TRUE DEMOCRACY," it'd be a real pain in the a**. As for the full support of withdrawl, are you refering to America? Or France? I'm sorry, I'm an American, I don't like surrender.

First, the American people do not fully support a withdrawal, as you claim. Second, the USA is not a true democracy. It is a republic.

Why indeed??? He could simply yield to the will of the American people and if things get as bad as he and Cheney keep telling us...well then he could just sit there and say..see I told you so...but they don't really believe the chum they feed the American people after all...do they?
