Goodness sake, son, it's a historic document, and one of the greatest influences on Western culture we have!
They're mature enough to set aside most of it, having evolved as a religion to keep pace with the rest of us (unlike Islam).
Why is it that you can't? What is your need?

Christianity is not a religion and what is a violent OT? The Bible is the word of God,a religious book is written by mans inspiration.

The OT has prophesies about Jesus and the OT teaches a lot about things to AVOID. It is also historical.
Would it be right to take slavery or the holocaust out of our history books?
Hint: Learn some more, study the Bible, then you will know these simple questions. You would know that we are not under Levitical law (Leviticus, etc) it is all explained in the NT.

Christianity is following Jesus Christ- Who was He violent to? He fulfilled the Psalms, prophets and the writings of Moses and the only violence He committed was whipping the sellers of religious stuff in the temple which was to be a house of prayer. I suspect you are Muslim and it is no surprise you have no idea of what the Bible and Jesus Christ are about since you are forbidden to read it. Would you be beheaded if you did? We cannot remove writings from Gods Holy Word. Those that do are cults. Like you. What violence have Christians done? If like to know.

You are confused with what is Judaism and what is Christianity but in any case the Hebrew scriptures are valid and inspired of God.
Hint: the Christian (greek) scriptures are from Matthew through to Revelation.
Maybe you should do some research (or at least actually open a Bible) on what you are talking about before you make more erroneous flaming "questions" because it puts egg on your own silly face.

Jesus was a Jew and he taught using the very thing you wish to eliminate. It is good for instruction and shows everyone the very nature of Christ's relationship with the church. It would be a huge task to explain a new covenant when the old one is not even understood.
Anyway, wouldn't separating the Old Testament in such a fashion be rich fodder for those who wish to discredit?
You are so busted. Now run along and play.

God never changes. He still cant tolerate sin. The people were under a different covenant then and judgment was swift. We are in another covenant since Jesus and we will be judged after death. People think they are getting away with so much now because they aren't struck down, but they are getting away with nothing. Everyone needs to repent and ask Jesus to become their personal savior in order to escape hell and be rewarded forever.

Because it's history and important history at that. The NT is concealed in the OT. The OT is reviled in the NT

Why take out. Those are stories on people who do not believe on God. By reading it, it is a basis of example which should not be followed because it is bad.
That is a kind of story where there are moral lessons to be taken out.
