Yes let's all step up to the plate as we get ripped off at the box office paying the ridiculous price of $10.00 or more to sit in a shoe box sized theatre with spilled soda and popcorn on the floor because the theatre happened to be showing a blockbuster movie and didn't have time to clean up between concession time. :\

$8.50 for or popcorn and $5.50 for a medium soda. Are you kidding me? :\

And let's not forget the Mexicans sitting behind us that we slapped in order to get them to shut up ‘cause they couldn't understand the English dialogue; and the parents who we yelled at sitting in the seats in front of us because their screaming obnoxious teen-agers wouldn't shut up. :\

Meanwhile , while we expect the movie to start, we're forced to sit and watch 20 minutes of commercials, even though we've already paid a hefty admission fee. Sometimes they are the same commercials that you would see on television. Uhh, I didn't pay to see commercials. I paid to see the motion picture. :\

And the people who somehow thing it's perfectly polite etiquette to use their cell phones whenever they please before during and after the movie. Eeeechh. :\

Hmm, and the person's fat head in front of us blocks any pleasant view that we otherwise might have had
of the "big" screen. :\

To top it off, we'll try and forget how we were all rudely solicited by the theatre's clerks for some bogus charity before the movie started. As a result the clerks had some people in the audience throw popcorn, sodas and bon-bons at them in disgust as other people in the audience clapped and laughed.

Now you might think the above incidences are exaggerations. Not by much. The only exaggeration is slapping, but everything else pertains to things I have experienced at theatres.

The aforementioned occurrences are also the reason why I haven't been to a motion picture theatre in about 10 years. I'll stick to watching motion pictures on DVDs., if I feel the burning need to watch a movie, which I rarely do. :\

If you were paying those prices 10 years ago, I'd hate to see the prices in your theatre now.
I only pay $10 for a movie ticket when I'm seeing the movie on IMAX. If it's at a regular screen, most of ours charge around $8 for evening shows, and $6.50 for matinee, but if you go to the AMC before noon on Friday-Sunday, and holidays, they only charge $5 per ticket.
The food prices are also extreme. When we saw Spiderman 3, all we bought was 2 large soda's which cost a total of $9 ($4.50 each). THAT was a lot to spend on soda's alone. And popcorn? That usually runs about $4-5 for a large. Hotdogs run $3 each and nacho's about $3.50 or so.

Yes, movies are expensive, but you need to remember, the theatres don't make that much money on movie ticket sales. The movie production companies take most of that money, leaving the theatres to fend for themselves. That's why they charge so much for snacks and drinks.

If you are really bothered by paying those prices, then don't go to the movies. Rent them when they get released on to DVD. You'll probably spend about $5 for the movie, then figure in another $5 or so for soda's and popcorn you can pop yourself. A substantial savings.

For reals: If English isn't your community language, and also you're not to any extent further very sturdy at writing it, possibly you ought to not pass on rants on YA about issues that you may not clarify to different individuals properly because they'd do not recognize what you're speaking about. Take as an party the post you purely revealed. Yeah, do not fairly recognize what you're rambling on about. to reply to your question consisting of your factors in contact: this is not any longer an anti-christian action picture. that's amazingly community american ritualesque. The action picture is about doing what's nice, no longer succumbing to greed and skill and residing life with nature and each and every of the at the same time as playing it. that's about bonding with animals and individuals. It has sturdy messages. a million. The pink dragon does no longer advise devil. basically because you imagine devil being pink would not advise that if devil were genuine he will be pink. 2. the individuals contained in the sky reference is because they flew planes/ helicopters. they are contained in the sky. 3. The white seed issues were basically meant to be spirits or the concept anybody is acceptable. 4. and convinced, they did make the human right into a Na'vi. How is that anti-christian? Christianity killed off community american lifestyle, and at the same time as a movie comes with the impression of them back, wager what christianity tries to do? You guessed it.. Kill it off back. My entire factor is that you're searching into this action picture thanks to far. this is purely a movie. delight in it.

Everything you describe has one thing linking it together, community.

We crave a sense of community. Sharing that time and experience with those people brings us closer to them, and closer to the other people that have also seen the same thing.

It's something we'll have in common that we can talk about, so that we all feel like we're part of this larger group.

The social aspect is what brings people to it, the sense of community, as well as the thrills of the movie itself.

Not saying you'll enjoy it any more than you do, but you have to appreciate it for what it is. In their own way theaters bring people together.

God that sounds sad eh? heh.

you were paying 10 bucks for a movie and those prices for popcorn/sodas 10 years ago?

my suggestion would be to go to a movie theatre in a nicer area, b/c the theatres i go to are all spacious, clean and pleasant

popcorn and soda are a little pricey but movie theatre popcorn sure taste good not to mention combo deals etc

there is nothing like seeing certain movies up on the big screen and i'll keep on going
