the question that i am stuck on says;

the point (3k,k) lies on line AB
find the value of k

the line AB has the following co-ordinates
A(-1, -7) B(4,3) and it cuts the y axis at (0, -5)

the line equation therefore is y= 0.5x - 5

so how do i find a point on that line? the k? any help much appreciated

While traveling x miles per hour, a truck burns fuel at the rate of G(x) gallons per mile, where
G(x) = 1/32 (64/x + x/50)

a) If fuel costs $2.88 per gallon, find the speed that will produce the minimum total cost for a 400-mile trip.
b) Find the minimum total cost.

My sister in law is due on May 10th. The doctor wanted to induce labor tomorrow, not for medical reasons, but because the doctor was going on vacation. My sister in-law decided not to induce because it is too risky. Has anyone ever head of this before? A doctor inducing labor one week early because the doctor was going on vacation? How absurd!!!!

Basically i am a stay at home mom, i usually do some odd computer jobs now and then.
Recently i got an offer for full time, but the job concerns a project that i have always hated.
Meaning, i have worked on this project before - but have always delayed and hated it.
To add to this i am not very efficient with it.
The only thing that makes me take up this work is - what will i do if i start working full time (may be some other job) and i am suubjected to similar kind of problem. I cannot always run away from problems.
What do you think i should do? I should take up the job or decline it.

I know, i know, i know, alot of people say that their teacher's aren't fair or are giving them a bad grade not baised on their work but here is my situiation:

It is my math teacher and i have been working really hard in math but i have a "C" in that class and i have done everything that my friend has, she has an "A" and is in the same class. I was absent one day and i missed a test but i came in a few days later and retook it, this was in march, and he hasn't put it in the grade book yet. I keep asking him to enter it but he always "forgets"! I have always had stright "A" and i haven't ever had even an "A-" before so that is why my dad, and i both think this is strange. What do you think?

I don't assign blame to anyone, nor to I claim to know how or exactly why. What I know for a FACT is that the 911 commission was a half baked farce. The fema report was inconclusive and the NIST report lol lol referred to how great a job the fema report did on subjects like building 7 which the 911 commission completely left out, and the fema report admitted there needed to be further investigation. Of course that is not impossible, because most of the evidence was destroyed. I am not talking about from the collapse either. It was recycled. Hauled away by a company called "Controlled Demolition"

My SIL (husband's brother's wife) invited my husband and I up for a weekend and visit a few wineries in the area. It's a 4 hour drive for us, and we're stopping to pick up my in-laws on the way so they can watch our 2 little nieces while the four of us go for an overnight.

At first, I thought this was a great idea, but now I am having real issues with it. 3 weeks after she asked, my SIL called to say she checked hotel prices and they couldn't afford to go. (She wants to stay in a very fancy resort - rooms start at $175 and that's a fold out bed). I guess she also told my MIL, because a day later, I got another call from SIL saying my ILs were paying for their room & the trip was back on. My MIL called us and said they'd pay for our room too, which neither my husband nor I agree with. We're in our 30s and feel we should pay for our own hotel rooms. But she didn't want us to say anything to BIL because it would make them feel bad. I just don't know what to do or say!

My brother has got full time job(40 hours per week).He`s got an offer to take a part time job as an extra,what would be £500 monthly for him.
Does anybody know if his full time job will affect his part time,when they will tax it?I know they don`t take much tax from £500 (monthly),but will they take more tax from it ,if he will have another £1500 from another job?I mean when they tax your money do they put all your income together from different jobs ,or they just tax it all seperately?

i went to an event the other day and the streets were filled with abotion protesters and when I said I was pro0choice everyone was trying to tell me how wrong I am. First of all there were men telling be about abortion and I do not listen to men on that isssue, but they said EVERY reason to have an abortion is wrong I mean come one. and they they tried to show us pictures of a dead baby, but children cant even feel that pain.
