I'd say "the hell with restaurants!" why go and pay restaurant tax, and also have to pay tip? i think the most romantic thing is having food cooked for you. if you want a romantic setting, then light some candles at home, with some home cooked food. if you want it outside, then do a picnic under the evening sky, and watch the sun set. the romance is between the two of you, not where you eat, or what you eat. if you would rather not cook, because you can't, as in the food you make would not be considered food. hehe. then order out at a fave restaurant or yours or your gf's.

good luck!

perhaps you can look for a BYOB place.
This is a restaurant that does not serve liquor and you bring your own. Sometimes the wine prices can be a killer and these places usually pride themselves on good food.

You can also try http://cityguide.aol.com/dining I use this site a lot and there recommended places have not let me down yet!!

Try buying the food from the grocery store and cooking it yourself. This way you know whats been added...Nothing like having a home-cook meal...

McDonnalds - after they are closed! You can get the food free from the dumpster out back, its romantically dark in there, and no one else is around!
