It is NOT a belief system. It is NOT held by faith. It does NOT need evidence because it is a negative claim.

Faith is believing in a positive claim that has no evidence! Faith is also believing in any claim - positive or not - as 100% true.

The 2nd definition does, in fact, apply to atheist-gnostics because they won't consider theism true even IF there *were* evidence for it!

Why is it that the Jehovah's Witnesses and other Christian groups continue to call the God of the Bible "Jehovah" when we know that his name is actually YAHWEH, and the name Jehovah is from a MISTRANSLATION of the text? Aren't they up on their Bible studies? Does this not DISPROVE their claims about Biblical inerrancy (at least as far as the modern translations are concerned)?
Isn't it disrespectful to him to call him by a name that is based on a mistake? How do Jehovah's Witnesses answer this fact? Doesn't this pretty much undermine the entire basis of their religious claims? Their entire religion seems to based on a MISTAKE in translation!
To any Jehovah's Witnesses out there, how do you answer this? I mean no disrespect, but this question was actually brought up in a conversation I had with a Biblical scholar recently who pointed this out as a refutation of the claims of the Witnesses (and why he rejected their version of Christianity). So, I pose the same question here.

It's like this. I saw the movie "300" today and on a scale of 1-10, those sexy, tall, long hair having men were hot. I want one for myself! I'm an attractive female, petite, and maybe ver between a 6-8 depending on perception. Thing is I think most of the 10 men out there can get 10 women so they will try for 10 women. I love sexy men and I don't want to settle. 6-8 scale men can easily get 9/10 "scale" women if they have money and a little personality...does this work for men too? If 10 women will happily marry 6-8 men (even lower if they're really rich) then what does it take for me to get a 10 man? Do men weigh money etc. the same way women do? If not, what is it that I need to 'have' per se? I"m willing if the man comes with it. Is that thing money? I'm assuming so, but I'm not sure if that's correct.I want a boy toy! 10 women are impressed with(will marry/date a guy with) money and status, what are 10 men impressed by?

if the criminal crucified next to Jesus was told he would be with Jesus in paradise that day - how could baptism be required

yes it is a very important thing to do - it is to show a public commitment to follow Jesus but it doesn't get you into Heaven

I understand the pope isn't so sure but babies that don't get baptised to go to Heaven

Old like 80's.

Describe your time spent with your loved ones.

(Especially those you have held onto all these years , like that special someone who you met when you were much much younger)

Check this out.

I just watched Patriot Games last night for the first time in a long time.

First of all, what famous bit of legislation did Bush ram down our throats after 9-11?

You guessed it -- The "Patriot Act".

The second parallel, and this is what caught my attention actually, is a line near the beginning of the movie in the pub, between the two IRA guys:

The evil one says to the other one: "You are either with us, or you are against us."

Do you remember when that line came out by President Bush? November 6, 2001.

http://archives.cnn.com/2001/US/11/06/gen.attack.on.terror/

I wonder if Bush's speech writers get all their stuff from Bollywood? Or perhaps Bush forms his policy decisions based on movies?

Maybe he's been watching "Beavis and Butthead" reruns.
