I just watched Patriot Games last night for the first time in a long time.
First of all, what famous bit of legislation did Bush ram down our throats after 9-11?
You guessed it -- The "Patriot Act".
The second parallel, and this is what caught my attention actually, is a line near the beginning of the movie in the pub, between the two IRA guys:
The evil one says to the other one: "You are either with us, or you are against us."
Do you remember when that line came out by President Bush? November 6, 2001.

I wonder if Bush's speech writers get all their stuff from Bollywood? Or perhaps Bush forms his policy decisions based on movies?
Maybe he's been watching "Beavis and Butthead" reruns.
