Not really; a personal philosophy is very different for what
now passes as philosophy in academic classes;i would say
that the darwinist and historical western philosophy is at a point where no real insight is possible at the present.For mass philosophy doesnt work;the last sage and mystic
wittgenstein showed clearly i think that we can advance
knowledge in language but hardly in mass philosophy.
The quality of some sages and of course some younger
and possibly clever student's life may be raised;but lots
of people have a low quality of life-they aspire to a low quality
and are backed-up by a(usually mass)education.
At the other end is the sciences,which certainly do not raise
the quality of man's life; although they are taught a modicom
of law-and-order,to the benefit of all.

some have a problem with idealism and intellect. for them, its wasted. it seems to have an effect, but usually years after the fact. it should raise the quality, but often it sparks rebellion. most will not change if life is good for them. then theres the definition of quality, which has a pretty wide spectrum. in reading this, i have come to the realization that i just dont know. sorry.

Concrete operational stage (Elementary and early adolescence). In this stage (characterized by 7 types of conservation: number, length, liquid, mass, weight, area, volume), intelligence is demonstrated through logical and systematic manipulation of symbols related to concrete objects. Operational thinking develops (mental actions that are reversible). Egocentric thought diminishes.
Formal operational stage (Adolescence and adulthood). In this stage, intelligence is demonstrated through the logical use of symbols related to abstract concepts. Early in the period there is a return to egocentric thought. Only 35% of high school graduates in industrialized countries obtain formal operations; many people do not think formally during adulthood.
