The English are feeling the pinch in relation to recent terrorist threats and have raised their security level from "Miffed" to "Peeved." Soon, though, security levels may be raised yet again to "Irritated" or even "A Bit Cross." Londoners have not been "A Bit Cross" since the blitz in 1940 when tea supplies all but ran out. Terrorists have been re-categorized from "Tiresome" to a "Bloody Nuisance." The last time the British issued a "Bloody Nuisance" warning level was during the great fire of 1666.

Also , the French government announced yesterday that it has raised its terror alert level from "Run" to "Hide." The only two higher levels in France are "Surrender" and "Collaborate." The rise was precipitated by a recent fire that destroyed France's white flag factory, effectively paralyzing the country's military capability.

It's not only the English and French that are on a heightened level of alert. Italy has increased the alert level from "Shout Loudly and Excitedly" to "Elaborate Military Posturing." Two more levels remain: "Ineffective Combat Operations" and "Change Sides."

The Germans also increased their alert state from "Disdainful Arrogance" to "Dress in Uniform and Sing Marching Songs." They also have two higher levels: "Invade a Neighbor" and "Lose."

Belgians, on the other hand, are all on holiday as usual, and the only threat they are worried about is NATO pulling out of Brussels.

The Spanish are all excited to see their new submarines ready to deploy. These beautifully designed subs have glass bottoms so the new Spanish navy can get a really good look at the old Spanish navy.

of you voted for Bush in the last election, even though we were already losing the war in Iraq. Bush wants to send in 20,000 more troops which will put us where we were last year, and that didn't help. We need alot more if we are going to stay the course, so to speak. So why don't you people put your body where your vote is and go to Iraq and accomplish the mission?

I was a teenager in the 50s and would love to, at this late date, learn all of the popular dances from that era. It would be so much fun and great exercise!

In the English language, there are sooooo many different translations and I really don't know which one to pick.
I usually use the NIV, and that's ok. But I want to know, is there a translation that you know of that is the word for word from the original Hebrew? I heard the New American Standard was good. But then somebody told me it's not. What about the New King James version?
In no other language have I seen so many different translations. In the German, most people use the Lutheran translation.

What's the correct way of saying it?
For instance, a man sins, greivously, yesterday.
Do I say "Would God forgive him for that?" or do I say "Has God forgiven him for that?"
For me, it comes down to whether God, in that instance, is a dynamic (here and now, then and there) God, or a Wait until Judgement Day kind of God.
Any ideas? Opinions?
Aside from the usual sheeple bleatings about his non-existence?
I don't care if he exists or not, that is not the point of this question.
This is a question about the use of language.
(Let's see how many people don't read the whole question...).
