My son is two and a half, and my first. My friends also gave birth the same year, so we all have children. My son though is different from the rest. He speaks fluently now, Greek and English. His grandmother is Greek and tells him fairy tales and he translates for me word for word. Yesterday, he sat down with me and began the myth of Hercules. For fifteen minutes he did not stop. I stared at him the whole time my mouth open. He counts to ten in three languages, knows both alphabets, can draw a letter or a number if I tell him to, can operate the DVD player perfectly and can rationalize with me. Is this normal? My friends' children don't so much as say mama yet. Anybody else see these things in their children?
