My husband and I have been having A LOT of disagreements lately. I've read tons of articles about how to "fight fair", "say what you mean", "be a better listener", and on and on. I want our marriage to work, especially b/c we have 2 children.

The problem is this: No matter what I say, everything is always my fault. My husband says I don't listen (which, by all professional accounts I do - i.e., making eye contact, hearing what he says, empathizing with his emotions, repeating back to him what he said, not interrupting, not giving advice, etc) but he still says I don't listen! I walk away from our disagreements feeling defeated b/c I feel like I did something wrong, apologized profusely, and promised to try hard not to repeat the behaviors in the future. Later, I remember that I didn't get to express my issues in a constructive way. He turned the entire conversation around to him and his needs. I've sent him articles about figting fair and communicating but he WON'T read them! Help!

Hi there!

I recently found myself suffering from severe red eyes and excessive crusts/discharges, in addition to my second cold of the year (symptoms so far include sore throat, headache, nasal congestion, and light coughs). I am fairly certain that this is a case of viral conjunctivitis, and as I understand it, there is not much that can be done except to suffer through it (up to 3 weeks).

My concern is that I spend a great deal of my time working on my computer, and I could not help but wonder whether staring at a monitor for an extended period of time will worsen my condition. Would you recommend that I allow my eyes to rest for the next few days, or would that have little to no effect whatsoever?

Thank you for your responses!

Other than those people who suffer from medical conditions or terminal illnesses or incarceration, do people create their own living hell? Whether it is a customer who is screaming in agony because a package is showing up a day late. Or a teenaged girl is suffering because she is not getting any attention from her boyfriend. Or a person who hates his or her job yet continues to stay year after year. Do you believe that suffering is a choice? And if you believe suffering is a choice, is it possible to choose happiness?

In Buddhism there are four truths: Life is suffering. Suffering is due to attachments. Understanding this, one can transcend over their attachments. Once one transcends over their attachments, they will no longer suffer.

In other words, do some people build mountains over molehills? It occurs to me suffering can be reduced by the notion of acceptance. If one were able to reduce their suffering after accepting what happens, then is it possible for anyone to acce

I just discovered my sister has been stripping for the past few years. SHOCKED. I typed in our last name in the search engine and I came across her biography. I assumed it was a resume for a job. I clicked it and it listed everything on how she started stripping to her her stage name & online website + interviews ect. Still in disbelief I thought its fake..someone who didnt like her posted this. I went back to the yahoo and typed in her stage name. Then up popped numerous results including her website which features only her, and tons of other stuff.I paced around my home what to do..We are both well in our twenties & she is the oldest. .I called my sister immediately and told her that I understand, but I have to do whatever I can to get her stop. She was very quiet and embarrassed but I found out still works there.Where we live is very expensive so it may financial but cant be the only reason. She's a very sensitive & emotional girl. What do I do?w/o pushing her away or to depression

I seem to have this issue where friends, coworkers have a tendency to borrow things like money, magazines, etc. but then forget to pay me back, or return them in good condition if they do. It really is irritating that I have to make the effort to get things back when I'm the one who did them the favor to begin with. I'll hear things like "it was only 5 or ten bucks-lighten up." But when they needed the dough it sure seemed like a big deal. I know they always say be prepared to not see it again when you lend something of yours out, but then the person should also ask with the disclaimer that they want to keep the item not 'borrow' it. It's small enough where I'm not gonna end the friendship over it but I just find it inconsiderate that instead of apologizing over the oversight they usually get upset that you asked for it back or in the same condition. Now I tend to be less trusting but only other option is to say no all people all the time which is unfair to them. Any suggestions?

The word adrenaline means of something distressful and which different from word excitement means enjoyment of something pleasant.

So why this guy could like this adrenaline, for example bungee jumping ( say it's different bungee jumping, ie. the bungee jumping site have 5% chance to die as a fact ). And this is what I'm talking about, not if you like to ride in roller-coaster. I think the latter we all love it from time to time.

Are these guys could convert adrenaline as excitement? ?
