Water started filling up to the brim, so I had to cut off the water supply really fast so it wouldn't overflow....now the water has drained and I plunged, and I'm pretty sure it's unclogged. But when I turn the water back on and flush again, it still keeps filling up to the brim! Does that mean it's still clogged? I'm pretty sure it isn't...I hope someone can help with this, my landlord will take his sweet time getting someone out here to fix this and I don't want it to be days before I get this toilet working again! Help if you can...thanks!!

I'm a soldier in the military and am not home very much. We're interested in a home that's been on the market for over a year. It has serious foundation problems that would require an immediate investment of $5,000 to $20,000 to make it right, therefore no other buyers are going near it. We feel it would be a worthwhile purchase because the home is in otherwise great condition, fits our needs as a family & is in the ideal neighborhood.

We put in a low offer hoping the seller would take into consideration the money we'd have to spend to fix problems, but were turned down same day with no counter offer. We were ready to negotiate & raise our offer if necessary, but the she never even gave us that opportunity.

I would like to write seller a friendly letter explaining our reasons for the low offer, and also to open the lines of communication in case she decides she's ready to negotiate later. I would ask that she contact us via our RE agent to keep things on the up and up. Everything has gone through agents so far, so is this acceptable?

We have these tiny jumping bugs all around the outside of our house. They appear to be much more plentiful during the cold months and especially when it is rainy. They appear to be:
- wingless
- about 1/16 inch long
- have six legs total
- have two long antennae
- brownish/black in color
- have two segments... big bulbous body + tiny head
- hop, especially when you walk by

I've never been the type of person who itemizes the bill when dining out with friends. Even if I've had salad and the person next to me had steak I am always more than happy to split the bill 4 ways (or however many), because it's quick, easy, and there's nothing that can kill the atmosphere quicker than hassling over the math and money. However, it does bother me when I feel a certain person consistently and knowingly takes advantage. For example when at a club and buying a huge round of shots at the bar, $5 each, everyone generally throws in $6 and forgets it. This person tosses $1 or $2 and disappears into the crowd to reappear 5 minutes later. When someone gathers it up and goes to pay the bartender it's almost always short, forcing that person to chip in the remainder. This is several times a night every time we go out. Everyone in the group feels equally ticked about it, but nobody says anything to this person. What to do? Nobody volunteers to count up the money and pay any more.
