I wouldn't risk it without a doctor's okay and them having FULL knowledge of your "mild heart problem". Always address health or potential health issues with your physician. Taking advice from complete strangers online (esp if it's just because they say what you want to hear) can be harmful or even deadly.

I'm no doctor, so check with yours. But Viagra is used by people who have mild and moderate heart problems. Aside from Viagra not being compatible with some heart medications, it apparently does little to the body. The main reason Viagra makers want you to go to the doctor is to see if your body can handle the physical exertion necessary for intercourse. Viagra is so safe it may soon be reclassified to be sold over the counter without a prescription!

It is safe for people with heart conditions. It was originally studied as a heart medication!!! It didn't do much to help with blood pressure but the investigators noticed it had a strange side effect. Everyone who was studying this "heart medication" got erections. So rather than scraping the project, they began marketing Viagra as an erectile dysfunction medication.
HOWEVER you cannot take Viagra with certain heart medications (nitrates) because the two together will cause severe hypotension(low blood pressure) to the point of passing out.

The answer will depend on exactly what heart problem and what drugs you might need to treat it. Viagra is a vasodilator, so it's at least possible that some heart problems could be improved with its use, but with others, even if they're not very symptomatic, it's not a good idea.

This is a question for your DOCTOR.
This site is a great place for opinions, not so good for factual information. You would be CRAZY to take Viagra when you know you have a heart problem without having an in depth conversation with your doctor about it.

Talk to your doctor first. Many men who have used viagra in the past have had heart attacks during intercourse.
