I have always had long hair. I am in my 50's. It looks better in any business for long hair to be swept up. There are beautiful combs and pins available that are classy and adult looking. An upswept do, a bun even, is always an understated look of class when long tresses might not be appropriate. Men are distracted so easily, you know! Lol...

I usually wash it and blow dry it in the mornings as otherwise my hair may be greasy by lunch times. For the days where I am lazy I do wear my hair in a smart pony tail, I think this can look very nice if you use the right hairband and choose some nice earrings to compliment your clothes, also it can show off your face more and bring a change. People I work with have often said it looks nice when I wear my hair up! Or you could try to use a claw clip to hold your hair in a more stylish way, I part my hair on the side, or sometimes on an angle across my head and leave some bangs hanging out to accent my face, then do my hair in a low pony tail and then use the claw clip to clip the hair in the pony tail up the back of my head with the ends of my hair all hanging out over the top. This also creates a more styled look. I hope this helps, having long hair like us can be difficult at times, but I also think it looks really lovely :-)

Yes, I know it can definately be a pain! Especially this time of year where I live, it seems I have so much static in my hair. I usually will wash and blow dry my hair before I go to bed at night. Then I'll either use a straightening iron or curling iron in the morning. It doesn't look AS good as it would if I fixed it right before work/school, but it saves me time during the morning. I guess it's a matter of how you normally style your hair.

There is some classy ways to wear your hair up you can do those diaganol parts or side parts or just slick it back put in some of your hair cremes whatever you use. Make it look wet or something then wear it off to the side, and top with one of those fancy ponytails like with a butterfly or whatever ,you know like the prom kind instead of a ugly regular ponytail? Or you could do the same thing with the parts or without, but instead do the nicely rolled around the back of your head bun like a ballerina or slick back nicely and use one of those big fat barrettes and clip the front of your hair in the back. Good luck :)

It's so much of a pain that I don't do all of that. I just wash and air dry it. I don't use any product. I wear it down until I can't stand it anymore. Then I put it up in a bun or a low ponytail.
I would LOVE to chop off my hair (no, not Britney-style), but the husband says no. Actually everyone says no -- apparently people envision me looking strange with short hair...

I learned that while a pony tail isn't always proper, and bun for some reason is. I don't even have to blow dry it.
