Ok, here's the deal. As far back as I can remember, I have been a very shy person. During High School I'd react strangely to social situations, and have extreme difficulty holding a conversation. People would view me as cold and aloof, which isn't how I really am. I would always feel that people were judging me or thinking the worst of me. I was a perfectionist with my school work. Now I've left school, I find that I hate going out of my house; i coerce my partner into doing the shopping and bill paying.
I've come to realise it isn't normal, and have even researched it a bit and come to the conclusion it is either Avoidant Personality Disorder or simply social anxiety.
I am afraid to go and see a Doctor, because I feel that they are going to tell me nothing is wrong or that I am a hypochondriac.
Does anyone have any suggestions that have helped them improve on their own? Does anyone have any experiences to share? Or should I just get someone I know to force me into going to a Dr?

If you remember anything, I gave a Five Star Frogsplash to the reigning champ. In fact, I injured Garfield so bad, that he isn’t even going to be here tonight.” All of a sudden, Garfield showed up on the screen. “Tonight, we’ll decide if either one of you will face me. You’ll face Pooh & Piglet in a tag match, and if you win, you’ll face me at Wrestle Marathon. Also, Casper will hold an open invitational to whoever else wants to face me. But you two, be aware next week, cause when I come back, I’ll make sure you both pay.” brb

Several men are in the locker room of a golf club. A cell phone on a bench
rings and a man engages the hands free speaker function and begins to
talk. Everyone else in the room stops to listen to his conversation.

MAN: "Hello"

WOMAN: "Honey, it's me. Are you at the club?"

MAN: "Yes"

WOMAN: "I am at the mall now and found this beautiful leather coat. It's only
$1,000. Is it OK if I buy it?"

MAN: "Sure, go ahead if you like it that much."

WOMAN: "I also stopped by the Mercedes dealership and saw the new 2007
models. I saw one I really liked."

MAN: "How much?"

WOMAN: "$90,000"

MAN: "OK, but for that price I want it with all the options."

WOMAN: "Great! Oh, and one more thing.... the house I wanted last year is
back on the market. They're asking $950,000"

M AN: "Well, then go ahead and give them an offer of $900,000. They will
probably take it. If not, we can go the extra 50 thousand if it's really a pretty
good price."

WOMAN: "OK. I'll see you later! I love you so much!"

MAN: "Bye! I love you, too."

The man hangs up. The other men in the locker room are staring at him in
astonishment, mouths agape.

He turns and asks: "Anyone know who this phone belongs to?"

I was out to dinner last night and saw a very pregnant woman Smoking. I asked the waiter if somking was allowed and he said no. They came and told her there was no smoking , and she made a had a fit, saying it was " her right"

Im 18 weeks pregnant , I dont smoke or allow anyone to smoke near my children. I just think it should be treated as child abuse if a pregnant mom is smoking. It would be Child abuse if you were making your 2 yr old to smoke, the mother is MAKING the baby smoke as well.

In Indiana they are trying to pass a law no smoking with kids in the car....... Should babies in the womb not count in that?

Mostly, I like mine. They're people I may not have chosen to be close to under different circumstances, but perhaps that's the point. Family relationships teach you how to deal with personalities that aren't necessarily like yours, and there's no easy out (unless you're a bit unfeeling and can just walk away). I've learned a lot from my family, both directly and indirectly. I've come to respect our differences (exasperating though they can be sometimes) and enjoy the challenge of making those relationships work.

Tanker trucks (which carry liquid) are always cylindrical. Their cross section is a circle as opposed to normal trucks which have a rectangular cross-section. There must be a real-good reason for this. However, i cannot figure it out.
