Can a "Beta" have a closed lid environment, such as a vase like dish with a candle holder that sits on top. Can the fish still get enough air from the space between the water and the lid? It makes a beautiful centre peice, but can it breath?

For circumcising my newborn son? My friend was over and she was watching me change Aaron's diaper (my son) and she noticed he was circumcised. She didn't put me down or anything, but she said how unnecessary and painful the procedure is and that I shouldn't of done that to him. That I've mutilated a body part of his for life that he can never get back, that sex when he's grown up is better with a foreskin, and on and on. I always heard it was cleaner and guys can get infections if they're not circumcised so I did it to him for those reasons. Plus I didn't want him to feel different around his peers, because hoenstly I saw one back in high school that wasn't and it looked nasty.

Anyway so does this make me a bad mother? What if he grows up to hate me bc I took the choice away from him? Does anyone have experience with this?

I like writing about teenage or comedy epics, kids that get into severe 'street' trouble (poss. drugs, pregnancy). This would be for mature teens, and I thank anyone that answers, but please do it appropiately. All answers are appreciated. I know that writers use their own life expriences (sry spelling) and I plan on useing a huge part of it exactly like that (of course changing names, places, etc.) but for teh subjects I have not gone through, (drugs, teen pregnancy) I would like some insight. I have had one of my mollies and three guppies for three weeks. (Two guppy fry have been in a net inside the tank for two days less than that.) Today I added a mollie and a pleocostemus (sp?) to the tank. The original mollie is sort of shivering and turning onto its side by the other mollie. Should I be worried?
