If you're a diabetic, see a doctor TODAY!! My husband the diabetic almost lost his foot due to a buised toenail.
If you're a regular person, try icing it. It's basically a blood blister under the nail. They hurt like the dickens, but they'll usually clear up in a week or two, as long as you aren't a diabetic.

If your healthy and not a diabetic, there isn't much you can do for bruised toenails, except use icepack for swelling x 24 hours, followed by applying heat for the pain,or you can soak the foot in very warm water. .Actually its the "nail-bed" that's injured and has caused the nail itself to be bruised.I've never heard of too pointy shoes being the "cause" of a injury like this.I would suggest that you never wear such ill fitting shoes in the future, you could easily cause some nerve and bone damage etc.If this injury takes more than several days to get better, you really need to see your MD. Take care. SW RNP

Go to a health food store or a supplement place like GNC and get some pure tea tree oil. follow the instructions carefully. if it is a fungus this will clear it up. if not, I would do what the other person suggested and see a doctor.

You can't treat them at all, just wait until they fall off, which eventually, they probably will since the nail bed is damaged and has detached from the nail.
