Bang on all you will about Maggie Thatcher as it is obvious you have swallowed New Labour's constant propaganda lies. Obviously you have no idea what a mess the country was in in 1979. Under Callaghan (Labour), union strikes crippled the country. Dead were left unburied, rubbish accumulated in the streets, power cuts were frequent and finances were in such a parlous state our economy was taken over by the International Monetary Fund, interest rates and inflation were at an all time high and we were branded "The poor man of Europe".
When Tony and his crew came on board they INHERITED (remember Blair's favourite word) the strongest economy ever handed over by an outgoing administration to an incoming administration in the whole of the 2oth century. Tony will never tell you about that inheritance.
New Labour, under Tony Blair and I do mean UNDER Tony Blair, as he makes all the decisions, this country has been draggged to its knees. Statistics are manipulated to support the claim crime levels have fallen. Of course they have if you decriminalise many offences and don't count many others. Play around with Asbos, Community service, Rehabilitation and any other dodge because the prisons are overflowing. A bit of a paradox to say crime is falling when prisons are full, even when sentences are cut and early release is the order of the day.
Britain's children grow up in the worst society in Europe. Schools are failing miserably due to constant interference from a succession of Education Ministers who all introduce their new ideas, blind to the fact that every 'reform' is experimenting on the current generation of children when what they need is a stable system, free from meddling politicians. Public Transport is a shambles.
The NHS is almost bankrupt with some local hospitals being closed. Brown sits in solitude in No. 11 and spends every minute of his day thinking up new ideas to raise taxes.
Oil goes up in price and so does the tax; speed cameras proliferate and more tax is levied, house prices go up so many more people fall into the Inheritance Tax band, Stamp duty levels are increased so crippling tax is imposed on every house sale. Pension funds are raided causing the loss of pensions to many. 'Green' tax is imposed on travel which , percentage wise is a hammer blow to the working class population but is chicken feed to the wealthy, which includes government Ministers.
Meanwhile, MPs vote for their own salary, pensions and expenses increases and rip off the taxpayer. Council tax has gone through the roof in the last ten years, far above the 2% average increase in the State pension.
New Labour zombies complain bitterly about shareholders and 'fat cats'. Where do you think ALL the New Labour Ministers keep their loot, in little tin boxes under the bed! I would bet they are all investors in the Stiock Market. Tony and most of his comrades are millionaires.
Perhaps I shouldn't mention the war in Iraq. I suppose we don't really need the money that is costing us.
Incidentally, the answer to your question is no.

The only reason that the Brits still have him sitting in Downing Street is that they hate the Tories more than they hate Blair! Boy, it's still impossible to scrape off their memories of that scoundrel, Tory "Iron Lady" Margaret Thatcher even though she's already dead and buried!
By the way, there are still enough Members in Blair's Party to keep him in constant check today to prevent him from screwing up like he did in the past. He now knows that Afghanistan is a far dangerous place for the Brits' fight against terror, than Iraq. It's only Bush who continues to spin the Israeli Zionists' tales!

Yes - three General election wins, two by a landslides, four Tory leaders seen off, Tories desperately trying to realign themselves as a moderate caring party.
NHS improving with more doctors and nurses and reduced waiting lists, massive investment in schools, minimum wage, devolution.
compared to the last Tory administration, things have certainly got better.
(cue abuse from Daily Mail readers.....)

No, in fact he is without a shadow of a doubt the worst, most corrupt, most untruthful Prime Minister in the past two hundred years.
Anyone believing otherwise must also believe in fairies.

This question should be in the jokes section. He has lied, cheated, blundered, and swindled his way throughout his entire time at Downing Street. His free-loading wife has taken advantage of her husband's position to plunder the public purse to her own advantage. All in all an unmitigated disaster that will take us years to put right.

Not for the citizens of the UK but YES for himself. He will receive a tax free yearly pension,- for life, in excess of £62,000 ($120,000) when he is eventually kicked out.
Not bad for years of self indulgence money making and telling numerous untruths. Gordon Brown will be no better.

Well, except for all the paki's and Muslim's he let into your country, legally, he did good on supporting England's best friends the Americans, so I'd just say he was fair. Not great, but not total trash either. He was successful, enough.
