I have a very close male friend, whose mother died when he was around 17. It absolutely destroyed him. I did not know him before but everyone who did says he became a different person, that he withdrew completely. When we started to become close he was doing really well and coming out of his shell i truly believed we were falling in love. But we had a bit of drama due to circumstances and everything fell apart. We stopped talking and he went seriously downhill, starting drinking heavily and really changed. It took him so long to open up to me and as soon as it got hard he was gone. Is it possible he has problems getting close to women because of his mother? He hasnt had a girlfriend and ive known him for years. I also know he is not gay. One night we spent hours on the phone and he talked about his mum for the first time with me and he said he was in love with me, (he'd been drinking) The next day he took it back and that was the end of us. Is it possible he did love me but was afraid?

Just by looking at me you couldn't possibly tell how messed up my life has really been. I'm aware and i dont blame anyone but myself for the way things are for me. The thing is that i was very inexperienced while i made most of the dumb decissions i did and now because of my lack of skills needed to raise children 2 of my 3 are almost worse than me. when i was growing up as a young muslim girl i was told that its wrong to question islam and the prophet's lifestyle. what made me question and leave islam were based on my own thinking.
i feel most religious people let alone muslims are been prevented from thinking for themselves.

islam is the worst culprit in ths department.

Besides the obvious feeding, watering, and letting them outside. No fussy dogs that have to be brushed all the time. No dogs that require constant supervision. Definitely no yappy dogs.

Hi all, I'm from Rome, Italy. I'm a 20yo gay boy and have come out when I was 14. My relatives and friends have accepted me and still love me. So I'd say it goes pretty well. There's only one problem: I live in the country the Pope lives in.
This changes our politics, our lifestyle, our values...almost everything, making expressions such as "against nature" very popular and abused ("Girls exposing their belly are against nature", "Abortion is against nature", "Science is against nature", and obviously "Homosexuals are against nature"). Everything they don't like it's against nature...
Now, since you gay and lesbian people have obtained a lot of things in the UK, can you try to answer some obsessions that fill the media?

"Will civil unions destroy the traditional family and how?"
"Marriage is just the union of a man with a woman?"
"Children need a father and a mother to grow up?"

You're probably smarter than our politicians and clergy.

I am astonished and upset, my child has come back to school after being sick for 8 days and the teacher didn't even bother to tell her hello or ask how she was feeling. My daughter who is only 7 years was appaled at such indifference, my friends say not to bother because this is like the british are, is this true? should I make a remark to the teacher or let it go? is my child being discriminated?
