Basically, I'm a full time web developer --that works from home-- in Florida for a small company in Michigan... and they deduct MI state tax from my pay.

I need to know the following before i approach them about this:

1. Are they suppose to be applying Michigan state income tax to my paychecks, when i live and work in Florida (no state income tax)?

and... 2. How would i go about getting a refund for the 1 year of MI state income tax they deducted from my pay?

Thanks
-ales

We count ourselves as the civilised western world. But by what standard do we judge that?

Is it not true that when we are sick we go to a doctor (a qualified third party) to be diagnosed. Thus how then can we say that our society is civilised if we live in this society?

Who is it that has judged us to be civilised and what qualifications do they have to say that?

Why are we civilised and others are said to be not and can we truely say that we are civilised if for example ONLY there are people living in poverty while others are living in the lap of luxury at their expence as it where?

Please explain your answers with no relgious quotes unless nessecary.

I thank you in advance for your insight.

I moved from NY state to WA state last year. In NY had I racked up a bunch of points on my license due to speeding tickets. They have a program called the "Driver Reponsibility Program" that assesses your point total each year and assigns a fine you must pay or have your license suspended. The fines will last up to 3 years after the infraction. Since I have moved, I no longer have a NY state drivers license anyway- so should I pay the fines? Obviously I don't care what they do to me in NY, but I don't want it to affect my WA state license. The fines aren't cheap. Last year was just $100, but perhaps they changed the fines this year, because it is $200, or I can pay $500 to be done with it and not get assessed another fine next year. I know the law in NY says I need to pay, but in my opinion they are just making money on this. All together I have paid a couple thousand in terms of insurance hikes, lawyers, and ticket fines. Already too much. Any advice? Thanks in advance!

Here is a video of him (it is a music video containing highlights):

He is a third generation superstar. He has been called by many the new Owen Hart (he actually does a standing moonsault into the center of the ring when he enters the ring in honor of Owen Hart because that is what Owen used to do). Not only is he a great high flying wrestler, but he is also great at technical and submission wrestling, power wrestling, and is very creative with his moves (he has over 30 moves that he uses regularly). He is the true future of wrestling. He is the past, present, and future of wrestling. He is the bad boy of the Hart family. He is Teddy Hart! He is the future of wrestling because unlike others (namely Cena and Roidtista) he is willing to work the hard way to be successful rather than sucking up to the boss.

My friend has had to have both weak and strong antibiotics for a month now due to an abscess on her leg which has been removed. She spoke to a Polish colleague at work and he said in their country if you have strong antibiotics there is a risk of you becoming infertile. Is this true? If so why was she not informed by her GP or the hospital?

What do you do when you are on the phone someone that you cannot understand what they are saying like a telemarketer? Like ones that don't speak very good English but yet you are actually interested in the product and want to hear more? Hang up rudely, or ask them to put someone on that you can understand? My husband is the worst about this, he will be so rude to them to the point I swear they are going to cry and tell them to learn to speak English then call him back. What would you do? Isn't it annoying?

i am 25 years old. my husband is 29. we have been married for 6 years.. we have had lots of obsticles but have seemed to get over them all eventually, but there is one that is threatening to ruin our marriage... for years we have been in debt, but finally in the last 2-3 years, we have managed to get back on our feet and greatly improve our credit. but i have been sick and out of work since last september and unable to bring in any money. he doesn't have a job that pays enough to support us both, so within months, we are in a huge hole again... only now its bigger because we overextended ourselves with credit cards and such when we were doing well. he has already had 1 vehicle repo'd and we are 2 months behind on the other 2 and $40,000 in other debt. i have cancelled all my credit cards and am working with a consoladation co., but he will not stop spending money on stuff that is unecessary, like a new stereo and amp for his truck he can't pay for. i can't take it! what do i do?
