Well, the implication in that statement, I think, is that the humans of a few thousand years back were not smart enough to build the Great Pyramids. I have to disagree on that point - it seems to me the Egyptians were, "pound for pound", the smartest people to ever live.

Sure, there are fancy gadgets like computers now, but all this new technology came about through gradual progress. Are we humans better thinkers than the humans of ancient times? In my opinion, that is highly debatable.

Why is it that we humans underestimate what the human mind can accomplish. why do we have to postulate a god or aliens or what have you to explain Stonehenge/pyramids/etc???
We built the stuff. If you look into the pyramid thing you will find that it took us a number of tries before we got it right.
Info; did you know that the Americas civilizations of Incas/Aztecs etc built all that stuff and empires to boot without the wheel? It never got invented over there! and yet they did. We do not need any "outside" help. We are truly unimaginably resourceful and inventive.
