I've been thinking maybe one reason teenagers -normal ones- clash with their parents is because suddenly the parent isn't a god anymore.

Think about it. For the last ten years, you had all the answers. You could make it all go away with chocolate milk and a hug. Now, quite suddenly, you're an insufferable moron in your offspring's eyes. Not only that, but even on a good day, s/he honestly just doesn't need you as much. S/He can and will walk to school, for example. S/He can just go out to a movie, and doesn't need you to be there. S/He would honestly just rather go hang out with his/her friends than play catch or Monopoly with you.

My second theory is that it's also largely concern for romantic areas, as well as possibly a little defensiveness. Your kid is falling in love. You've been in love before, and you've been rejected. You see your kid moving in that place and you want to protect him. You also maybe see it as something of an invasion.

I've been reading different descriptions of fighting styles but it doesn't seem to be as good as asking someone who knows about fighting. I'm just looking for a balanced style that doesn't base all it's moves on a certain principle (like using someone's own force to make them off balanced, or is all based on punches or kicks, even though both sound cool) but is still effective in self defense/fighting and whatnot. I'm pretty interested in mixed martial arts and practical self defense like striking pressure points or whatever but some of the martial arts kicks are still cool.. well I don't really know! Can you give some suggestions or advice? Thanks

Ok so theres this girl that i know and that i seriously love with all my heart. well the other day we went to disneyland together and we kissed for the first time. we were getting along and hold hands and talking to eachother as if we were in a relashionship. the next day when i get to school she tells her friends that we kissed and we went to disneland together and they just start talking crap about us and just making it awkward for me and this girl to talk to eachother. Now since all of her friends are talking crap to her about us she seems to not even want to talk to me anymore. Somebody please help me get her to like me as much as i like her. you need to understand that i love this girl with all my heart and i would do anything for her..

i bought my son two hamster from the pet store. and from what i could tell they were both female. they fought some but it was never really anything big, and when they would i would i split them up. then one day while sitting on the couch i keep hearing a strange noisy. i looked into the cage and the bigger hamster had eatin one of the back legs on the other hamster.YUCK!!!! so i ended up taking that half eatin hamster back to the pet store. but since i have been home i have been watching the other hamster and notice she has been acting strange. like making something like a nest and she has not been very active. i really just don't understand any of this.this is the first hamster we have own so im not sure about there behavior. i mean she was not ever mean or anything she never tried to bite or anything. but the hamster with the half eatin leg wouldn't even let you touch it. sooooooo i guess i just want to if anyone might know anything. PLEASE HELP

I'm trying to get some healthy ideas for feeding my two year old daughter. I'm not much of a cook and it seems all the "convienent" kid-friendly foods in the supermarket are so unhealthy (big suprise). I find myself feeding her a lot of the same things. I know she must be bored with her lunches. Just wondering if anyone knows some simple recipes that will give her some variety and are a little more nutritious.

I doubt this is a new issue but, it's new to my little hick town so I thought I'd post this question to get some opinions. Recently, two kids died in a car accident on a public highway. The mother of one of the victims erected a small wooden cross with the girls' initials, their pictures & flowers. The little piece of land that she put this memorial on happens to be private property but it's viewable from the public highway. Since this is the oh so open minded southern bible belt, there are maybe 6 people who aren't Christian or Baptist here. A few people have asked that the memorial be removed or placed out of view because it is associated with Christianity. Naturally, people are going bananas about it. I'd like to know if anyone who happens not to believe in Christianity (me being one of them) thinks this is a valid request. Is this another example of religion being pushed upon people who have no interest in it or just a small thing being blown out of proportion? Thoughts?
