Hey Lili.....I doing 8 to 9 hours under the needles next month so I've been doing my research.....The main key is to relax. If you aren't tensed up it will go a lot better. Bring your i-pod or a friend to help distract you......... here is the best article I could find on pain as charted by body location.

Its going to be a little more irritating than a tattoo on somewhere like your upper arm.
The less "meat" you have under your skin, the more it'll annoy you.
Since skin is super thin there, you're going to feel it.
Pain of a tattoo isn't what you expect though. It's not some long, gruling, drawn out process. It's exactly what it is. A needle (needles actually) being drawn out over your skin.
If you have long nails, press your nail down with a moderate pressure over your wrist and just pull it in the opposite direction. That's basically what a tattoo feels like, but instead that area you just did will be gone over, and over again. That causes the irritation.
But, you body is a magical thing and is only going to make you go through about 5 minutes of that until your endorphines kick in and is basically a natural pain killer.
On top of that you only have the slight pain when they're tattooing. The second the gun is picked up, the pain goes away.
All in all. You'll be fine.
It just takes a little bit of patience and some good breathing.
The pain is going to be the last thing you're thinking about when you're excited as hell to see the design come out on your skin.
Good luck!!!

I have a tattoo on the inside of my wrist and was easily the most painful tattoo I have had. the skin is a lot thinner in that area. Even though I say most painful the pain only lasts while it is getting tattooed so it depends how much you want it? I would easily go through it again so it can't be that bad!
Only prob I find it that it is in a VERY visible spot and everybody notices it, which is fine for me but you have to think if that is what you want, I guess you could cover it with a watch if you wanted it out of sight.
Good luck and remember it is there forever so choose wisely.

I have the inside of my wrist tattooed and it really didn't hurt. I have had painful tattoos done that almost weren't finished, I am a big baby, but the wrist was a cake walk. I already have the next one picked out for the other wrist! Everyone is different.

Tattoos don't hurt, its just a sharp pinch and sting, but nothing bad. the "pain" is just a little over exaggerated.
