Is this a really popular name? My second child is named Connor, which ended up being one of the most popular names that year and I don't want to make the same mistake again. Is Landon too popular?

You might want to check out this article. One of the lines in the article is:
Some names that are rising up and may be more popular than ever in 2007 are Landon, Brayden, Logan, and Noah for boys, and Addison, Camryn, Charlotte and Chloe for girls.

I would stay away from Landon if you don't want the name to be extremely popular.

I would suggest similiar names, like Lyndon, BUT if Landon is becoming popular so will the names similiar...

How about: Cason, Flynn, Caelan, Brent, Jase, or Tate?

Good Luck! SD

Approximately 1600 out of 1 million male babies born in 2005 were named Landon. The popularity of that particular name has grown a great deal in the past 5 years.

The link below ranks names by popularity since the 1880's.

I actually like that name!! I know a few people name Landon but it depends on where you live. There may not be Landons where you live. But if you really like that name then your child's name should be Landon. You don't want to regret it if you name your child something you may not like as much. Naming your child something popular is not a mistake!!! I am sure your child will be beautiful regardless of his or her name!! Good Luck to you and your family!

I haven't heard that name since the movie "A walk to remember". It's an awesome name. If it's something you like, don't worry about it's popularity.

I don't think it really matters. I like it. My name is Matthew Christian and I think I am the one with that name. Chingwan is just my Chinese name. So that means my name is not popular at all. And it really doesn't bother me so why shall it bother you if your child's name is popular or not. Who cares if it's popular or not!

I like the name, but if you're worried about it being too popular, you could always give it an unusual spelling like Landyn. Other suggestions for similar but more unique names are London, Lander or Landers, or even something like Lachlin, Laughlin, Lawson, or Leland, etc. But i would personally just go for Landyn.

It sounds like Micheal Landon, the old actor from Bonanza. I like Douglas. It's strong, it's masculine and it's Scottish. Douglas Gregory -- it I was having a son, that's what I'd name him.
