Hi,

I currently have some gotu-kola (fresh plant) + some dried fo-ti (he shou wu) bark, and I like to extract these herbs to make my own homemade cream/lotion/gel base.
What types of solvents should I use?
Normally it's the alcoholic + water solvents, but I prefer not to use alcohol.
I was thinking to just use plain water as solvent by boiling the fo-ti bark + gotu-kola...but how do I preserve them as boiliing usually means using them up in 24hrs or 48hrs at best (if kept referigerated)...and how do I incorporate them into my cream/gel?

Any input will be much appreciated. Thanks!!

My brother's apartment burned down (he & his wife, kids, and cat are ok). They're pretty shook up and aren't sure where they'll go from here. I thought I'd make a CD for them, one with songs that could be comforting and encouraging (no need to make them worse). However, most such songs I've found seem to always be about break-ups and that's not what I want. Any suggestions?

The council did my anual gas service yesterday, and there is a leak, they have condemned it and capped it, so I have no gas now, my question is, can exposure to household gas cause any medical problems, and if so what would the symptoms be ?

I never really get obsessed or anything, and Im totally normal and know that they arent real. But, I have kind of a large list of fictional characters that I've been in love with. My friends think its weird. I've always thought it was normal. Just in case you were interested........
Jack Dawson from Titanic. This was the closest I have ever come to being obsessed with a fictional character.
Ryan Atwood from the O.C.
Seth Cohen from the O.C.
Michael Scofeild from Prison Break
L.J. from Prison Break
Harry Potter from...well, thats obvious
Even Robin Hood the fox from the freakin Disney version! That was my first crush! :)
And the list goes on.........Am I abnormal?? I dont want to be thought of as some freak who cant seperate reality from fiction, but I feel that I keep it into perspective pretty well. I mean, Im in love with a real, live breathing person, so that must count for something right? (he's not my b/f though) I've never had a b/f. Could this be why I have a long list?

I disagree with it personally, but I am being opened minded as far as how good your agrument is. It just seems strange that one text is interpreted in so many ways and each one is solitarily right. I say that people are intended to interpret religion in their own way rather than that of an institution.

Din't He give you food to eat and water to drink ?
Din't He give you sun to shine for the day and hides the sun to give you sleep in the night?
Din't He give you oxygen to breathe every moment?
Din't He provide you with everything even before you were born?
Then why did you spoil everything He gave?
Why are you spoiling your life? Why isn't it valuable for you?
Jesus came to save us from our ownselves, we are bringing disaster to our own self.
I tell this because, I was once like that. I was selfish and did things that would please me, to attract others by acting kind and good, etc, my life was a rot, I had spoiled my life completely. No one was there that I could cry to also, so I cried to God. I dint know that He listened. But He had listened. I know it now. I can feel God's presence so much.
Please pray to God to help you out from yourself, the CREATOR can FIX HIS CREATION as easily like that.

We live in an apartment and I don't want to bother the neighbors but my dog barks at every little noise, and he barks loud. I was wondering if I should put a muzzle on him when he barks (for a little bit to show him it's bad) or when he chews the socks/shoes. I just don't want to emotionally mess him up.

Hi - I need some help. It is a total mystery...

I have been using the same deodorant (roll on, not anti-perspirant) and laundry liquid for years, yet three weeks ago I did my washing as normal and all my shirts came out with bright red stains wherever they had come into contact with deodorant (concentrated, of course, to the underarm area).

I have soaked in salt water, nappy soaker, laundry soaker. I have pre-wash stain removed with sprays, sticks and creams, and I have bleached (both industrial strength and natural). All that works is hard laundry soap and good old elbow grease. Then I get to do it all again next wash!!

Firstly - can anyone shed some light on this matter? I have now changed deodorant and laundry liquid and it's still happening.

Secondly - can anyone offer any better suggestion to cleaning the stains - the vigorous hand washing required is ripping the fabric.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
