God's most basic law specified death as the penalty for sin.
The reverse of that law, which is just as significant, is that no one has the power to take the life of one who has no sin.
As Jesus had no sin, no one had the power or authority to take his life.
Satan and his minions conspired to put Jesus to death anyway, and when he permitted them to do so, it became their own undoing, as no one has the authority to take the life of an innocent man, let alone the only begotten son of God.
Hence, Satan was judged for his crime, lost everything, and was left desolate, while Jesus was raised from the dead, given all power in heaven, on earth, and under the earth, and was installed as the new head of all mankind.
It will always be so.

Jesus is free from guilt, so that I could be freed from mine. God sent His Son into the world, not to condemn it but to save it. Without the shedding of innocent blood- the blood of the perfect, spotless lamb of God I would still be dead in my sin.
