Rap music cannot be directly responsible for the increase in crime rate. However, rap music is increasingly popular and is more accepted than it used to be. It's unfortunate that people label rap music as bad, because there is a lot of good hip hop out there. But, if you listen to most of the main stream rap songs, they degrade women, promote violence, promote and glorify gangs, and are generally negative. While this may not be a direct cause of crime, it creates an image that youth view as cool. When someone views something as "cool" they tend to emulate those things. So if our youth think it's cool to carry a gun around like all the rappers do......what do you think is going to happen? When Snoop Dogg is singing about Crips in every song (and it's not edited on the radio), kids start singing about Crips too. Pretty soon you have kids doing the crip walk who don't even know what it means. Can you see the problem this causes? SO, music is not to blame for crime, people are always to blame for their stupidity. But music, as well as movies and video games do have an influence on people.

it is a blend of comfortable coverage in the route of unlawful immigration from the ME--the British papers have even reported that there are particular gangs which have an noticeably jihad-like mentality-and ridiculously stiff gun regulation coverage. They were even going to limit the right to positioned on hoodies (because they were at one time linked with gangs). Peace @crabwriter-i do not recognize what propaganda you've been interpreting, yet-the united kingdom has exceeded South Africa's violent crime charges (South Africa also has draconian gun regulations), some thing no one concept became attainable. they're doing a concepts worse than the U. S. in words of violent crime. Having worse crime charges than South Africa is like having more desirable bratwurst than Germany.

No. The media always tries to lay the blame somewhere. Ultimately, people are resonsible for their own actions. TVs, movies or music don't cause someone to break the law, they want to. If music holds that much power, why isn't it reported that a happy song made someone do something positive?

There's a song called "I'd Like To Buy the World a Coke", do you think that made someone go out and buy everyone on the planet a Coke? I wish all the blame happy people would think of that example and realize that it's quite absurd to blame music for some idiots actions.

I think that if weak minded people are exposed to anything that can be negative it can be a huge influence on them. Sadly we have a lot of weak minded people in this world who are so easily influenced by negative things in music, TV, movies, games, etc. I personally think the more positive things out there the better. No matter what it is, rap music, movies, etc.

The media make us believe whatever enforces patriotism and keeps us buying, so I wouldn't USE that as a guide :)

No, no form of music or movies or cola can be held responsible for the high crime rate, for the high-pregnancy rate, or for the high interest rate for that matter.

One of the big causes of crime is the fact that drugs are illegal. If they were sold like liquor, in a controlled way, with ID required, etc. then they would be dirt cheap, and people would not have to steal so much stuff to pay for a drug habit. For example, I know people who have a $100/day crack habit. That means that they have to steal $200 to $400 dollars worth of stuff a day, to sell for $100. Since, in real life crack with a street value of $100 costs about FIVE bucks to make, if it sold for $5 then crime would go down. Having crack be expensive and illegal is NOT stopping people from wanting it, or stopping new people from trying it. That is not the answer.

rap n hip hop does is not responsible for high crime rates. its the people dont think before they act. the media and other people just want something to blame and seeing as to rap and hip hop lyrics are very suggestive they blame that. but if u listen to rap and hip hop ur not supposed to go out and do the stuff that it talks about. if you do then its jus idiotic......

yes. in someways 50 cents songs are a big influence to children hearing them. for example, some boys think its cool to dress like a thug and become gang members with guns. 50 cents songs relate to crimes and drugs. i think that music like that helps raise crime rates

Shirl girl I like what you said and sadly it is true. So many people around the world are so weak, they just need one thing to blame it on and unfortunately rap is the quickest to say.

No. First it was heavy metal that they picked on, now they say it is rap and hiphop. They just try to blame anything and anyone that they can to make themselves look good. All they are is a bunch of "BULLIES" trying to get a vote so they can make more money to pay for their high, rolling lifestyles.lol
