To my knowledge, cities and towns do not have elections for the chief of police. They are usually chosen by the mayor and/or city council. Yet in most counties, there are political elections for the office of sheriff. Why is there a difference between the two? Why do not the county’s government choose a sheriff among a candidate pool and leave it up to voters who might not be privy to how the office functions?

I would appreciate well-thought out answers. Thanks in advance.

I fish a large pond throughout out the year and have always done really well. I caught several 2lbs+ crappie out of this pond over the fall. There're two bubblers in the middle of this pond. Now ice has formed everywhere except for about a 50ft. diameter around the bubblers. The average depth of the pond is 10ft. with the deepest spot at 15ft. I have been ice fishing here numerous times this winter but have only been able to find small Gills. Where have all the Crappie gone? Would they perfer to hang around the bubblers which i cant get to? I have drilled thousands of holes in just about every available inch of ice and have still been unable to mark them on my vexlair. Any advice for Crappie Ice fishing?

Just because they are men? Do they not realize that we have certain attractions and such just like everyone else. I hate the sterotype that Gay men want to sleep with any man. I hav ehad some men say to me "Just as long as you know I'm straight." These were people I wouldn't have even looked twice at because they were not my type or just flat ugly in my opinion. I was told by the Doc's office there would only be a 50 dollar copay per visit, and now my insurance company says I will be responsible for thousands that they are not paying.

They sent the checks for their portion of the payment to me. If I am already going to be thousands in the hole, shouldn't I just keep those checks or can a person REALLY go to jail for that.

If it is just a collections thing, I will already have that when I can't pay my portion.

What do you thinnk?

Monday was the first day of Highschool. The school was filled with chix but i only wanted this one girl, I had a crush on her since Monday. I always stare at her and she seems to notice it. Theres this friend of mine whos been her classmate last year, so i keeped on asking things about her to him. He replied my question. But today, she knew I had a crush on her, her friend told me she knew. Seems whole of the class knew it. I made up a lie and told her friend "She looks exactly like my girlfriend so i feel that way. Her friend says "Oh okay, I'll tell her so she doesnt feel EWW,ARGGH,EWW anymore". I felt like my heart collapse when she said that..NOW WHAT SHOULD I DO? I STILL WANT HER.

Ok has anyone ever been through this situation, on either side. I was seeing this guy for around 7 months. Everything was great I mean everything, we gelled from the start. But he as a typical guy was really indecisive about having a serious relationship at the particular time. Everytime I intended on moving on he always came back. But I decided to REALLY do it, MOVE ON. It was just such a shame as we were like best friends aswell as lovers, not only said by me but him aswell. Now I have moved on months down the line he wants me back, to have something serious!

Have any of you guys ever been in this situation/dilemma. On both parts. Have any guy's here realised that they did want that person after, and were they gone or moved one, and have any girlys had this happen to them?

It's good to hear both side of a story!

For instance, it does not make sense whatsover that Joesph and Mary travelled for over 150 miles when Mary was about to give birth in order to register for census. It is also not true that there was census during Herod's time. Jews protested against census, which in fact happened some years after Herod's death. If I interrogate the bible to this extent, am I antiChrist? Does that make you angry? If yes, how should I satsify myself about the bible in order to be comfortable in my relationship with God?

Proof is in the pudding. The REAL wwe fans have won!!! It is now official that there are many many more Cena haters than Cena fans. The fans are finally realizing that Cena sux. If you don't believe me, then why was Cena voted off #8 in the "Fantasy Rumble" on WWE.com? If WWE.com has him voted off already, you know the fans don't want him around anymore.
