True Christians don't believe that such a loving God would send you to hell for eternity.

Jehovah's witnesses may knock on your door, but it isn't so we can condemn you to hell (actually the common grave). We do so to tell you the good news of God's coming Kingdom. (Daniel 2:44)

Honestly, mister, you sound quite hostile, but I think that God is trying to get your attention and you are resisting. When I was a young girl the youth group at the church I attended used to go door to door and also put flyer's and tracts on cars and front doors, but that sort of thing is a misdemeanor in some areas of the country these days. You are getting caught up on the hell thing and missing the whole point of Christianity. If you seriously want to know here is what to do. Get a Bible, translation of your choice. The King James is hard to understand for some beginners because it is written in Old English. I can suggest New International Version or The New King James. Google this: Roman Road to Salvation, you will find most of the verses you need there. John 3:16 is a must read. Also understand this, God did not create Hell for humankind. It was created for Lucifer(Satan) and his angels(demons). It is however the choice of every man and woman to go there or not. If you reject Christ Jesus you are choosing to follow Satan all the way to hell. If you choose Christ you will be choosing life(although no promise of an easy life here on earth), blessings, and an eternity in Heaven with God. What do you want?

There are some issues worse, although that's an exceedingly boastful and self-rightious element to assert. What those human beings forget is that human beings who're no longer Christians are in many situations Christians for a reason...they in many situations have their own set of ideals in place already. a number of those ideals incorporate the thought "Hell" is (gasp!) legendary. those Christians additionally fail to hold close is that by skill of telling somebody that they are going to hell, they're passing their judgement on that man or woman. no longer nessecarily their god's judgement, merely theirs. The are asserting which you will visit hell, of their OPINION. and that they arrogantly presume that their opinion is concurrent with God's.

It is the belief that part of your duties as a Christian is that you encourage others to join your faith. While I believe that if someone sincerely would like to hear more about faith, etc, that they will be receptive to any discussion. Being that I don't believe in organized religion it has always been my thought that while I will help anyone who is starting on a walk in faith. I don't think that it would be a wise use of time to try to convert people who obviously don't want to know. There is a widely used phrase in most churches "The doors of the church are open" which means that if you want to go there to learn about God and develop a relationship you should do so. My belief has always been that "everyone must see God for themselves". Its not on "Christians" to recruit you if you want to know more, you make the first step.

I don't think that you want to know that though I think that you are attempting to be cynical and funny.

That's like saying if the grocery store knows I'm going to run out of food why don't they just bring me some more.

There are churches that do the door to door outreach but most of the time people aren't home or they aren't receptive.

Christians who go out to public places to preach are either subjected harsh attack by people who don't want to hear the message or they're driven out by the "authorities".

This message that you seek though is available on the Internet, on television, and in churches (and most are open more than just on Sunday morning).

However you've left out the better half of the Christian message. The fact that there is a way to get out of going to Hell. His Name is Jesus Christ and he died for our sins. He paid the price so that NO ONE has to go to Hell. There is a choice. You can live your life your own way according to what you think or you can accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and live you life according to God's commandments. Freedom is yours if you choose to have it.

You are absolutely right. It is shameful how few christians actually disclose their believes to others. Certain sects don't have a problem knocking at doors. I'm not sure why that is. It's almost as if christians are afraid to be laughed at or they are ashamed. God asks us to rejoice and to share the gospel and explain to all the hope that lies within us. May be you could ask people you come in contact with if they are christians. If they say yes, then ask them why they haven't shared this wonderful news with you.

Some do,while others dont like to get in someone's face, especially when you don't know what kind of reaction you will get. Also hell has been used to beat people over the head, a little old fashioned respect and caring is more Christian than trying to scare people.

Wow, thats the opposite view of what most people hold. If we did that, would you listen or would you answer the door and regret it.

I think going to hell is very serious, but most people arent willing to listen. Those who are willing, usually show up in church or ask good questions on here or other message boards.

I am a Christian and I certainly do not believe we are all going to Hades for eternity. Where do you get such uninformed questions from? We all must stand before the Judgement Seat of Jesus Christ and He alone will judge us and give us our due reward for what we have done in this life. Some to eternal life with Him and some to eternal damnation with Satan their God.

I like to think that intelligent individuals have heard of the bible and of God, and if they choose to read the bible and stop in at one of the many thousand "houses of God" to ask questions - they can.

I don't believe that "preaching" does any good - in fact I have heard of many people who have left the church because they didn't want to be associated with that (preachy - my way or the highway) kind of behavior. They have sought and found God in other places outside of Christianity.
