For instance, it does not make sense whatsover that Joesph and Mary travelled for over 150 miles when Mary was about to give birth in order to register for census. It is also not true that there was census during Herod's time. Jews protested against census, which in fact happened some years after Herod's death. If I interrogate the bible to this extent, am I antiChrist? Does that make you angry? If yes, how should I satsify myself about the bible in order to be comfortable in my relationship with God?

The Romans would never have held a census requiring a person to go to his birthplace. It serves no purpose. A census counts people where they are.

It's a piece of fiction contrived to put the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem.

no but think about it in terms of semantics. The bible doesn't necessarily read the way it means. (if that makes sense, lol)
It is more likely that Joseph and Mary travelled for safety reason etc..
Keep in mind translation as well. The bible has been translated millions of times, I doubt it has stayed true to form all this time.
If you are talking about satisfying yourself about the bible, that won't happen. The bible is a historical document, with versions of each mans acct. of the time. Skip the bible. Satisfy yourself with the possiblities of God, it is human nature to still have doubts. If you just keep an open mind, you don't have to have total structure to your beliefs. Thats what faith is about. Find your own faith, not what other people tell you to have faith in.

Latest archeologiy shows that there was indeed a census done on the poor back then. I think your exploring the Bible and its authenticity is always a good thing. Just don't discount some evidence and accept others. Will you prove the whole Bible is true, nope. But what you will find is that every manmade test for authenticity and manmade tests for reliable documentation, archeological, social, etc., is far surpassed than any other historical document. Keep searching and learning, it can only help you.
