my best friend has met this man, there both 24 , hes in the service, and just got back form iraq, he never jumps into a relationship this fast but he feels that this one mite be the one!! they have been talking on the phone for a week, and seem to want the same things, like settling down, starting a family he wants a baby , she does too with the right perosn, he wants to get married soon, she does too! they seem to have "Connected"" some how , she's been praying for the right man to ocem into her life for 6 yrs, he want her to drive 5 hrs to where he is and spend some time with him, so they can get to know each other better, and he will drive back with her and they will figure out what the best thing ot do from there, hes been honest with her, and shes been honest with him, she sent him picutres and he sent her picutres and letters, my quesiotn is..."is it possible to meet the right perosn and just :KNOW" there the one out pure instinct, i mean is this some "DESTINY" or FATE situaton?!

Okay, what I mean is, for atheists people always ask why we don't believe. Then they say that they believe because they have "faith". Does anyone ever just think "Well, dang, I didn't conciously choose not to have faith. I just...don't. How, then, can I be punished for this (going to Hell)?" I've been to church but honestly it is just to impossible for me to accept (thought I won't outrightly deny the existence of God, because I dont know). But I just wanted to know if other people ever think this way.

here is my attempt at the question..

1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data

A typical virus is a packet of protein and DNA (or RNA) and can be spherical in shape. The influenza A virus is a spherical virus that has a diameter of 85 nm. If the volume of saliva coughed onto you by your "friend" with the flu is 0.010 cm3 and 1/109 of that volume consists of viral particles, how many influenza viruses have just landed on you?


2. Relevant equations

V = 4/3 x pie x r^3


3. The attempt at a solution

I'm thinking that I should take half of 85nm which is 42.5nm and plugging it into the volume formula for a spherical. The volume of the whole spherical virus comes out to be 3.21E-5.

3.21E-5 / 0.010cm^3 = .00321

1/10^9 of .00321 = 3.11E-7 particles?
