Level 7 is the top grade in Year 9 (not counting a grade 8 for exceptional pupils who have to sit an extra paper).
Level 7 IS equivalent to a GCSE grade C, but remember a year 9 pupil still has 2 years of study to go so should in theory reach at least a grade A by the end of year 11.

Only if you are actually in year 9 or lower!
Miss NS is talking bollox - the plan was originally to make a 7 equivalent to a GCSE grade C but the government quickly realised that would mean whole hordes of students wouldn't be arsed to do anymore work as a C will get you into a 6th form or college, so they scrapped that idea. Why bother with GCSEs if you've got the grade already?

Surely if you're predicted those grades/levels, you're quite clever so you should know whether or not they're good..?? But yes, they're good.
Level 7 IS NOT roughly a C at GCSE!! It's higher. What kind of English teacher are you??
