I'm very underweight, 16 year old male, 5'6", and only 105 pounds. I was thinking of taking a protein supplement to gain weight. From what I've seen posted, protein becomes fat if you don't work out, and since I'm underweight, I figure my body could use the fat. I would work out while using it but I just don't have the time right now. I was wondering if this would actually help me gain weight and, if so, is there any specific type of supplement that I should use? I'd be very thankful if you could point me in the right direction.
