I would say the US- Van Halen, Doors, Aerosmith, Slayer, Metallica, Elvis, Jimi Hendrix, Chuck Berry and all the greats who invented rock and roll

but then I remember all the many amazing bands from the UK- Black Sabbath, Motorhead, The Who, the Stones, Sex Pistols, Iron Maiden and the greatest band of all, Led Zeppelin.

It's a toss up. I could go either way.

Well my favorite rock bands: KISS, Van Halen, Heart, Bon Jovi, & Winger are form the US.
But the UK has some really awesome bands too like Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, Def Lepperd, & Judas Priest.
It's a tough choice for me.

Classic Rock - The U.K..

Some of what I grew up with:

the who, the stones, led zep, queen, Yes, deep purple, pink floyd, sabbath, jefferson airplane

I think the only american involved in the music I listened to was me, maybe the doors.

Modern rock, U.S. by far, in my humble opinion. It's a matter of taste though.

well considering the UK gave us Coldplay and Oasis i'd say it's a tossup on this issue

After having been to 3 Oasis concerts in the late 90's to early 00's I can honestly say watching the Gallagher Brothers of Oasis beat the livin snot out of each other on stage it was about as fun as going to a WWE or ECW event

but(and you know there is always a but)

I think the USA has the UK beat on this issue

That is a question of preference. I prefer the US sound but most artists us the British sound anyways so. I guess it comes down to which bands you like.
